1 National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund 2018 Honor Guard Schedule Brian Lacey Kaitlin Gilbride
2 Q. Do I need to bring equipment? National Police Week 2018 National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund Honor Guard F.A.Q. A. Unless you have been chosen for a Color Guard assignment, you do not have to bring any flags or rifles. If you have been chosen to carry one of the state flags for the Standing Watch for the Fallen Ceremony on May 14, we will supply the flags and poles. If possible, we do request that you bring a harness. Q. What are the hours and locations for the Honor Guard Check-In? A. On May 11, the HG Check-in table will be open from 10:00AM to 5:00PM at the Memorial. On May 12, the HG Check-in table will be open from 10:00AM to 7:00PM at the Memorial. On May 13, the HG Check-in table will be open from 10:00AM to 4:00PM on the National Mall between 4 th and 7 th streets closer to Madison Avenue. THERE WILL BE NO CHECK-IN AT THE MEMORIAL ON MAY 13. Q. Where can I park for the Candlelight Vigil? A. There is no parking available within the street closures around the event for any vehicles/buses. You are encouraged to take public transportation or be dropped off. Your only other option is to use one of the parking garages in the area. Q. Where should I be dropped off for the Candlelight Vigil? A. We recommend that you be dropped off at the corner of 4 th and Pennsylvania Avenue NW. This is the closest area outside of the road closures to the check-in tent as well as reporting areas. Q. What if I won t be able to make it to a shift/ I want to drop a shift? A. Please Brian at blacey@nleomf.org as soon as possible if you will not be able to make a shift or would like to drop a shift. We will have late sign ups and will be able to fill in that assignment. Q. Why do I need to check in? A. Every department will need to have at least one member check in at the Honor Guard tent in order to pick up your assignment cards as well as additional information such as updated maps or information. Everyone MUST check in prior to 4:00PM on May 13 th. Assignments not picked up after 4:00PM will be given away to other departments. Q. I completed my assignment but I didn t get a pin? A. We order enough pins so that everyone who participates will get one. We ask that even if you do multiple assignments, you only take one pin. If you do not receive a pin after you ve completed an assignment you can contact Brian at blacey@nleomf.org after Police Week and we will work with you.
