Updates 800 MHz Radi Training The next fur Wednesday s in June there is pen sign up fr the 800 MHz Radi Training t be held at Albemarle Cunty Training Office. Starting June 23 thrugh August 7 the 800 MHz training will be ging ut t the statins. August 7 is the date that the 800 MHz system will g live. Discussin was held. Sctt asked everyne t give him gd dates fr this training fr the statins. The fllwing is the dates that where given t him: June 27 Seminle Trail June 30 East Rivanna July 12 Nrth Garden July 13 Stny Pint July 14 Crzet Sctt will be in cntact with the fire and rescue cmpanies that were nt at the Training meeting t schedule their training. III. Unfinished Business Minimum Training Standards Sctt reviewed the prpsal fr Minimum Training Standards. 4 Rescue Minimum Training: Prbatinary CPR, First Aid BLS AIC EMT-B ALS AIC EMT-I Driver Prbatinary, EVOC II Squad Operatr EVOC III, STOP (CARS) A discussin was held Calendar Year Training Schedule Sctt handed ut a rugh draft f the 2006 Training Calendar. He went ver the calendar and changes. A discussin was held. Sctt asked each Training Captain t take a cpy f the calendar back t their statins and get feedback. IV. New Business Airprt Disaster Drill The Airprt Disaster Drill will be n September 10 at 1800 hurs at the Airprt. This year the drill will be an Alert 3 Class C drill. All Statins are invited. Mre infrmatin will be frthcming. Spring Graduatin There will be tw EMT Academies and a Fire Academy graduating in June. Graduatin will be n June 21 at 1900 hurs at the Cunty Office Building Auditrium. The Training Divisin is asking Gary Brwn the Directr f EMS t be the keynte speaker fr the graduatin. V. 5 FITNESS & WELLNESS PROGRAM 23 June 2005 Backgrund: In December 2003, the Department put tgether a team f career & vlunteer persnnel t wrk n a wellness & fitness prgram & a 2004 Assistance t Firefighters Grant prpsal. The Department was awarded the grant in Nvember The ttal prgram cst is $430,484 ($301,339 federal, $129,145 lcal). The grant will allw the implementatin f a cntinuing practive wellness and fitness prgram fr the department's vlunteer and career persnnel. In Nvember 2004, the Department asked stakehlders t cntribute t help with the matching funds. Vlunteer statins were asked t cntribute $1,000 each t help meet the matching funds requirement. CARS, Crzet, Seminle Trail, Scttsville Rescue, and Scttsville Fire apprpriated $1,000 tward the matching funds requirement. The Plice Department, Human Resurces Department, CIP als cntributed funds. As f May 2005, ur fitness equipment cnsultant had met with and assessed all statins, and the Bard f Supervisrs apprpriated the funds request fr the prgram. The RFQ (Request fr Qute) and Invitatin t Bids were received n 2 June The Fitness Gallery was the selected vendr. Update: Fitness equipment has been rdered. Belw is a tentative schedule fr the Fitness Equipment Prject. The Peer Fitness Trainer curse has been scheduled (written reprt previusly distributed via e- mail and als included n the next page).
