2 We are now calling nominations for the committee for season 2017/2018. We have vacancies on the Lakers Committee for the 2017/2018 season and encourage members to put up their hand for positions. Please find vacant positions highlighted in GREEN on the next page and those current committee members who will be renominating to continue on committee. 4 Committee Roles and Responsibilities Position Responsibilities Reports to Management of Positions President Ultimate responsibility for the Club and all Committee positions Leading the planning process and strategic direction of the Club Public comment (responsibility but not necessarily delivery) Club representation on the Triathlon SA Committee Chairmanship of the Executive Committee meeting Club Captain Attendance and reporting at Committee The operations of the Club (Competition and Members) Competitive activities, including racing and coaching, recruitment and morale of the members in general Secretary Attendance and reporting at Committee Organisation of Committee Meetings including setting of Agenda and preparation of Minutes. Management of inwards and outward correspondence Maintenance of Policies and Constitution Treasurer Attendance and reporting at Committee Management and control of the club s finances Oversight of other financial transactions of the Club training fees, trip fees etc Payment of debtors and creditor collections Preparation of monthly reports to the committee meeting Preparation of Annual Accounts Asset Management, maintenance and protection of the Club s assets, including gear, uniforms and facilities Management, control and organization of Club uniforms Membership Attendance and reporting at Committee - Club Captain - Secretary - Treasurer - Social - Marketing & Communications President Membership Women s President President Asset Treasurer Club Captain Race Day Trip

5 Position Responsibilities Reports to Management of Positions Women s New membership administration including coordination with the Treasurer, Secretary and Communications New member contact and support New member referral to coaches and integration members Attendance and reporting at Committee Support and promotion of women within the Club Promotion of the Club to women and the recruiting of women to the Club Assisting with the management of women specific issues Encouragement and facilitation of family participation in the Club in conjunction with the Junior Coordination of supporters at major events The is an appointment made by the Club s Committee/Board. The Committee, at its discretion, may call for Expressions of Interest for the position and then make an appointment. The conditions of that appointment will result from a negotiation between the applicant and the Committee. To remove doubt, the arrangement may be commercial and will be disclosed as such to the membership of the Club Club Captain Club Captain (and Committee) Ride Coach Run Coach Swim Coach Junior Coach Attendance and reporting at Committee Coordination and communication of training in conjunction with the Run, Swim and Bike coaches Obtaining the approval/endorsement of the Committee for all Club training The provision of training that caters for the breadth (Tinman to Ironman) and depth (Beginner to Elite) of the membership Attraction and support of coaches Ultimate responsibility for the management of financial issues associated with training Answering questions from members and potential members regarding coaching, training and racing including some generic training programmes based around Laker

6 Position Responsibilities Reports to Management of Positions for specific events To provide information for websites, newsletter and other communication on training and other triathlon performance focussed topics Run Coach Preparation and coaching of quality Run training catering for the breadth and depth of the Club s membership Coordination and communication of Run training in conjunction with the Coaching Responsibility for the management of financial issues associated with Run training Bike Coach Preparation and coaching of quality Bike training catering for the breadth and depth of the Club s membership Coordination and communication of Bike training in conjunction with the Coaching Responsibility for the management of financial issues associated with Bike training Coordinate annual club bike event, currently the Lakers Lofty Time Trial Swim Coach Preparation and coaching of quality Swim training catering for the breadth and depth of the Club s membership Coordination and communication of Swim training in conjunction with the Coaching Responsibility for the management of financial issues associated with Swim training Junior Coach Co-ordination of Junior training either within senior training or Junior specific training Social Committee Attendance and reporting at Committee Delivery of the Development Plan s Social objectives Chairing the Social Committee Organising major social events per year Organising minor social opportunities each year Promotion of social events President Social Committee Organiser

7 Position Responsibilities Reports to Management of Positions Marketing & Communications Website Sponsorship Organisation of Presentation Night including acquisition and engraving awards Attendance and reporting at Committee Management of the Club s general communication needs Preparing and ing The Blue Train Weekly every week Maintaining and keeping current the Club s website through the Website Facilitate an awareness of the Club s Policies, Objectives and Agendas by communicated them as required Keeping communications informative and entertaining Marketing of the Club for sponsorship and, in conjunction with the Membership, membership purposes Publicity in conjunction with the President Sponsorship through the Sponsorship Maintaining and developing the Club s website Keeping the website up to date and relevant The attraction of sponsors and follow up of sponsorship opportunities to meet the Clubs financial objectives The back up and servicing of sponsors to ensure that they receive value for money President Website Sponsorship Marketing & Comms Marketing & Comms
