2 AH RESL All-Hazard Resources Unit Leader (4 days) This course provides an overview of the unit leader responsibilities, the planning section, and the planning process. It explores specific RESL functions and responsibilities including resource tracking systems, operational planning, and resource products/outputs. Status/Check-In is recommended, but not required for the all-hazard course. Not an NWCG course. Certification: NFPA AH SITL All-Hazard Situation Unit Leader (5 days) This course helps attendees establish the essential core competencies required for performing the duties of the SITL in an all-hazards incident. This course addresses all responsibilities appropriate to a SITL operating in a local or state level AHIMT., including processing information and intelligence, and developing displays. Students are required to bring Situation Unit Leader Kit to class. Not an NWCG course. Certification: NFPA BEAST Basic Engine and Suppression Tactics This course will introduce students to basic wildland engine suppression tactics in both the rural and wldland urban interface settings. Students will also be introduced to basic engine terminology, structure triage, hose operations, and foam and water use practices to optimize the water available. The course consists of 8 hours of classroom studies and 8 hours of field work. Not an NWCG course. Certification: TFS BEHAVE Behave & RX Windows This course is designed to increase an individual's proficiency level with fire behavior predictions and calculations using BEHAVE. In RX Windows, the user specifies acceptable fire behavior and the program determines the appropriate combinations of environmental conditions necessary to burn. Students are encouraged to bring laptop computers. BIG WUI Basic/Intermediate Groundcover and Wildland Urban Interface (8 Hours) This course is designed as an introductory course for new wildland firefighters, or as a refresher. It provides firefighters with basic wildland firefighting WUI and safety information. This course covers all the requirements for basic and intermediate State Firemen and Fire Marshal s Association s Section 25 Ground cover Firefighting. ** Prerequisite(s): NONE Certification: SFFMA D-110 Dispatch Recorder This course is designed to train potential dispatch recorders on the structure of an expanded dispatch organization and to effectively perform with that organization. It will provide the student with a working knowledge of the purpose and process of completing the resource order and other dispatch forms. It will also provide instruction on established dispatch procedures. Page 1

3 D-311 Initial Attack Dispatcher This course is designed to provide a consistent knowledge and skill base for the initial attack dispatcher (IADP). The concepts taught in this course will help an IADP perform at an acceptable level on a national basis without regard to geographic boundaries. **Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of S-130/190 and qualified as a dispatch recorder (EDRC). DOZ OPS Dozer Operations This course is designed for the equipment operators that will be working in a wildland fire environment. It will cover basic dozer and heavy equipment tactics, safety, personal protective equipment, and supervision. Not an NWCG course. Certification: TFS EVOC Emergency Vehicle Operations Course This course is designed for emergency response personnel that will be driving in a response capacity. Topics include: safety considerations that affect responders when responding to an emergency and basic driving considerations of large apparatus. Not an NWCG course. Certification: TFS FI-110/210 Fire Investigation: Observation, Scene Protection, Origin & Cause Determination (42 hours, 5 days) The primary focus of this course is to teach sound wildland fire observations and origin scene protection procedures, and help build a skill base for those interested in becoming a wildland fire investigator. **Prerequisite(s): Recommended that students have law enforcement or firefighter experience. GPS GPS Orientation This course will help familiarize students with GPS units and their utilization in fire and EMS. Topics include: various types of GPS units and using GPS units in various fire and EMS situations. Not an NWCG course. Certification: TFS GRANTS Grants for the Fire Service This one-day course identifies grant sources available to fire departments and processes involved in securing grants. Course includes grant programs available through state and federal programs, grant writing basics, mistakes to avoid, and specific insurance and PPE programs for VFDs through Texas Forest Service. Not a NWCG course. Certification: TFS Page 2

4 I-200 Basic ICS: ICS for Single Resources & Initial Action Incidents (12-16 hours, 2 days) This course introduces students to the principles of the Incident Command System (ICS) associated with incident-related performance. Topics include: leadership and management, delegation of authority and management by objectives, functional areas and positions, briefings, organizational flexibility, transitions and transfers. NIMS compliant. I-300 Intermediate ICS: ICS for Supervisors & Expanding Incidents (18-24 hours, 3 days) This course provides description and detail of the Incident Command System (ICS) organization and operations in supervisory roles on expanding or Type 3 incidents. Topics include: ICS fundamentals review, incident/event assessment and agency guidance in establishing incident objectives, Unified Command, incident resource management, planning process, demobilization, transfer of command and close out. NIMS compliant **Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of I-200 I-400 Advanced ICS: ICS for Command and General Staff & Complex Incidents This course directs the student towards an operational understanding of large single-agency and complex multiagency/multi-jurisdictional incident responses. Topics include: fundamentals review for command and general staff, major and/or complex incident/event management, area command, and multi-agency coordination. NIMS compliant. **Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of I-300 I-700/100 National Incident Management System: An Introduction/ Intro to Incident Command System (8 hrs, 1 day) This course introduces the student to the principles of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and to the Incident Command System (ICS). Certification: FEMA I-800 Introduction to the National Response Plan This course introduces the student to the principles of the National Response Plan (NRP), which describes how the Federal Government will work in concert with State, local, and tribal governments and the private sector to respond to disasters. Certification: FEMA I-Suite Basic I-Suite (24 hours, 3 days) The I-Suite application consists of the Incident Resource Status System (IRSS), Incident Cost Accounting and Reporting System (ICARS), Incident Time System (ITS) and the Incident Action Plan (IAP). Student will need to bring laptop with Windows 2000 and the I-SUITE program. Not a NWCG course. **Prerequisite (s): Basic knowledge of the Incident Command System Certification: unknown Page 3

5 HELREFR Helicopter Refresher (1 day) This refresher course will cover basic aviation safety, load calculations, take-off and landing areas, operational planning, aviation transport of hazardous materials and conclude with a field exercise. **Prerequisite (s): HECM Certification: L-180 Human Factors in the Wildland Fire Service (4 hours, 1 day) This training course is designed for unit-level supervisors to use when delivering orientation training to new crewmembers. Presentation of the course involves a few short lecture segments, but the primary content is delivered by video and supported with small group exercises. Topics include: situation awareness; basic communication responsibilities; attitude and decision barriers; decision making process; teamwork principles. L-180/ S-133 Human Factors in the Wildland Fire Service/ Look Up, Look Down, Look Around This training course is designed for unit-level supervisors to use when delivering orientation training to new crewmembers. The stand-alone training package is available in the NWCG Publication Management System. AN adapted version is included as Unit 4 in the 2003 edition of S-130. Topics include: situation awareness; basic communication responsibilities; attitude and decision barriers; decision making process; teamwork principles. S-133 examines the wildland fire environment and the indicators firefighters should observe on the fire line in order to anticipate fire behavior. L-280 Followership to Leadership This training is designed as a self-assessment opportunity for individuals preparing to step into a leadership role. The course combines one day of classroom instruction followed by a second day in the field with students working through a series of problem solving events in small teams. Topics include: leadership values and principles, transition challenges for new leaders, situational leadership, team cohesion factors, and ethical decision-making. **Prerequisite(s): Experience on incident assignments in operations or support functions; successful completion of L-180; completion of pre-course work. L-380 Fireline Leadership The L-380 training course is designed to provide new leaders with the skill set needed for building and maintaining cohesive wildland fire crews. This course provides a blending of theory, classroom exercises and field exercises to bring together basic answers to understanding and influencing human behavior. The main target group for the training class is students wishing to reach Strike Team Leader or a Unit Leader position. There are a few prerequisites, however, before attending the class. **Prerequisite(s): Considered incident personnel with supervisory responsibilities; successful completion of L- 180; and successful completion of the pre-course work. 6 L-381 Incident Leadership This training course is designed to provide future leaders of divisions, groups and Type 3 incidents with the leadership tools needed to effectively exert command and control over a quickly assembled team in a time constrained and rapidly changing incident environment. L-381 offers an opportunity to learn and practice leadership skills and techniques required for members of an incident management team in small- to mediumsized incidents. **Prerequisite(s): Qualified as any Strike Team Leader or Task Force Leader, or Incident Commander Type 4, completion of the pre-course work, and successful completion of L-280. P-101 Fire Prevention Education I This course was developed as part of a multi-course national curriculum covering wildfire prevention and is designed to enhance basic skills and knowledge of personnel assigned responsibilities for wildfire prevention. PUBEDUC Public Education Workshop for Firefighters and Natural Resource Managers This workshop is designed to teach skills to firefighters and Natural Resource Managers on how to communicate with homeowners on fire and natural resource related issues. This class is designed to inform and educate students on techniques that will motivate homeowners to put in place prevention and mitigation efforts around their home and property. It is also designed to motivate landowners to implement firewise concepts in their land management decisions. Not a NWCG course **Prerequisite (s): NONE Certification: TFS, unknown R&R Rest & Rehab for Fatigued Firefighters This one-day class addresses general issues affecting firefighter safety as well as logistical needs for rest and rehab for incidents. Course is targeted for fire department auxiliary groups, citizen emergency response teams and active volunteer and career firefighters who are assigned to establish rest and rehab duties. Not an NWCG course. Certification: TFS, unknown RX-300 Prescribed Fire Burn Boss (40 hours, 5 days) This course is designed to prepare the student for the use of fire to accomplish resource objectives by evaluation and implementation of a prescribed fire. Development of a burn plan is the primary product of this course. **Prerequisite(s): Qualified as an ignition specialist type 2 (RXI2), qualified as an incident commander type 4 (ICT4), successful completion of S-390, and thorough familiarity of BEHAVE. ROSS Resource Ordering and Status System (20-24 hours, 3 days) ROSS is a computer software program which automates the resource ordering, status, and reporting process. Students will learn to use ROSS to track tactical, logistical, service and support resources mobilized by the incident dispatch community. Certification: Page 5

7 S-130/190 (includes I-100 & L-180) Firefighter Training/ Intro to Wildland Fire Behavior ( hours, 5 days) This introductory course is designed to train entry-level firefighters. The student will gain an understanding of the basic incident management organization, firefighting techniques, suppression equipment, safety, strategy/tactics, along with basic fire behavior. Field exercises will be performed for valuable hands-on training. S-131 Firefighter Type I This course is designed to meet the training needs of the Firefighter Type 1 (FFT1). It contains several tactical decision games designed to facilitate learning the objectives and class discussion. Topics include: fireline reference materials, communications, and tactical decision making. **Prerequisite(s): Qualified as a Firefighter Type 2 (FFT2) S-200 Initial Attack Incident Commander (ICT4) This course is designed to meet the training needs of the ICT4. Topics covered include: readiness and mobilization, size-up, planning and ordering, deployment and containment, administrative requirements, and post-fire evaluation. **Prerequisite(s): Qualified as any Single Resource Boss. S-203 Introduction to Incident Information (30 hours, 4 days) This course provides students with the knowledge and skills they need to serve as public information officer (PIO). It touches on all aspects of establishing and maintaining an incident information operation, communicating with internal and external audiences, to handling special situations. S-211 Portable Pumps and Water Use (24 hours, 3 days) This course gives the student practical knowledge and application skills of portable pump operations. The course consists of three skill areas: supply, delivery, and application of water. Field exercises train the student in the set-up, operation, and maintenance of pump equipment. S-212 Wildland Fire Chain Saws (24-36 hours, 4 days) This course provides an introduction to the function, maintenance, and use of internal combustion engine powered chain saws, and their tactical wildland fire application. Field exercises support entry level training for firefighters with little or no previous experience operating a chain saw, providing hands-on cutting experience in surroundings similar to fireline situations. **Prerequisite(s): Firefighter Type 2 (FFT2) Page 6

8 S-214 Wildland Engine Academy (40 hours, 5 days) This course covers foreman duties, engine maintenance, structure triage, hazardous materials, and use of foam and retardant. Students are encouraged to bring their own engines. **Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of S-130/190 S-215 Fire Operations in the Wildland/Urban Interface (28-32 hours, 4 days) This course is designed to assist structure and wildland firefighters who will be making tactical decisions when confronting wildland fire that threatens life, property, and improvements in the wildland/urban interface. Instructional units include: interface awareness, size-up, initial strategy and incident action plan, structure triage, structure protection tactics, incident action plan assessment and update, follow-up and public relations, and firefighter safety in the interface. This course is required training for the position of ICT4 and Strike Team Leader. **Prerequisite(s): Wildland Fire Agencies Qualified as a firefighter type 1 (FFT1); Structural Fire Depts successful completion of I-100, L-180, S-130, S-190, S-131, or equivalent training. S-230 Crew Boss (Single Resource) (24 hours, 3 days) This is a classroom course designed to produce student proficiency in performance of all duties associated with the single resource boss position, from initial dispatch to return to home unit. Topics include: preparation and mobilization, assignment preparation, tactics and safety, off-line duties, demobilization and post-incident activities. **Prerequisite(s): Qualified as Firefighter Type 1 (FFT1), successful completion of S-290. S-231 Engine Boss (Single Resource) (12-16 hours, 2 days) This is a skill course designed to produce student proficiency in the performance of the duties associated with engine boss, single resource (ENGB). Topics include: engine and crew capabilities and limitations, information sources, fire size-up considerations, tactics, and wildland/urban interface. **Prerequisite(s): Qualified a Firefighter Type 1 (FFT1), successful completion of S-230. S-232 Dozer Boss (Single Resource) (16-20 hours, 2 days) This is a skill course designed to produce student proficiency in the performance of all duties associated with the single resource dozer boss (DOZB). Primary considerations are tactical use and safety precautions required to establish and maintain an effective dozer operation. **Prerequisite(s): Qualified as an Advanced Firefighter/Squad Boss (FFT1), and successful completion of precourse work. 9 S-233 Tractor/Plow Boss (Single Resource) (12-16 days, 2 days) This course is designed to train wildfire suppression personnel in the supervision of safe tractor/plow operations. This course covers fuel models and fire behavior, capabilities in various fuel models and fire behavior, capabilities in various fuels and soils, size-ups and tactics, pre-attack decisions, direct and indirect attack and working with another tractor/plow boss to use tractors in pairs or in tandem. This course does not include development skills related to equipment operations, nor does it provide for the evaluation of existing operational skills. **Prerequisite(s): Qualified as an Advanced Firefighter/Squad Boss (FFT1), and successful completion of precourse work. S-234 Ignitions Operations (24 hours, plus opt. field day, 3 days) This is an entry-level course providing training in the functional roles and responsibilities connected with firing operations. The course covers planning, ignition procedures and techniques, and equipment applicable to wildland and prescribed fire. This course also addresses the role of ignition specialist or firing boss as the organization manages escalation from a non-complex to a complex fire situation. **Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of S-290 S-244 Field Observer (20 hours, 3 days) This course provides the student with the skills necessary to perform as a field observer (FOBS) and/or a fire effects monitor (FEMO). Topics include: roles and responsibilities of the FOBS and FEMO; how to make observations and document observations; how to produce hand drawn and GPS field maps; and how to navigate using a compass and GPS. **Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of S-290 and pre-course work., basic knowledge of a GPS FOBS: Qualified as any Single Resource Boss FEMO: Qualified as firefighter type 2 (FFT2) S-248 Status/Check-In Recorder This course is designed to introduce students to the tools and techniques used to perform the duties of a status check-in recorder (SCKN). The course provides an overview of what a student can expect if dispatched to an incident. **Prerequisite(s): Recommended students have I-200, L-180, and basic computer skills. S-260 Interagency Incident Business Management (16-20 hours, 3 days) This course meets the general training needs of all positions for which an understanding of interagency incident business management is required. It includes: employee responsibilities and conduct, personnel time recording, pay and commissary, correct reporting procedures for injuries, procurement and equipment time recording, property documentation, cooperative agreements with other agencies and claims/accident investigation. 10 S-261 Applied Interagency Business Management (20-24 hours, 3 days) This course is designed to provide the prerequisite skills/knowledge necessary to perform the task of the entrylevel finance positions for commissary manager, personnel time recorder, equipment time recorder, compensation for injury specialist and claims specialist. **Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of S-260 S-270 Basic Air Operations This course covers aircraft types and capabilities, aviation management and safety for flying in and working with agency aircraft, tactical and logistical uses of aircraft, and requirements for helicopter take-off and landing areas. S-271 Helicopter Crewmember (30-40 hours, 4 days) This is a combined classroom/field course designed to provide student proficiency in all areas of the tactical and logistical use of helicopters to achieve efficiency and standardization. Topics include: safety, personal protective equipment, capabilities and limitations, load calculations, helicopter makes and models, landing areas, fueling, contract administration, cargo transport, and helibase/helispot organization and operations. **Prerequisite(s): Qualified as a firefighter type 2 (FFT2). S-273 Single Engine Air Tanker This training is designed to provide students with the knowledge/skills necessary to perform the tasks described in the position task book for single engine air tanker manager (SEMG). The training addresses the standards, procedures, and duties of an SEMG. **Prerequisites: Successful completion of S-270 S-290 Intermediate Wildland Fire Behavior This fire behavior course provides students with the knowledge of wildland fuels and fire behavior to make safe and effective fire management decisions on prescribed and wildland fires. **Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of S-190 S-300 Incident Commander, Extended Attack (ICT3) This course is designed to meet the training needs of the incident commander type 3 (ICT3). The focus is on the lessons of leadership and command as they relate to the ICT3 position. **Prerequisite(s): Qualified as an Incident Command Type 4 (ICT4) and as a Task Force Leader (TFLD) OR qualified as an ICT4 and as a Strike Team Leader and any two Single Resource Boss positions one must be CRWB or ENGB; successful completion of pre-course work. 11 S-330 Task Force/Strike Team Leader (24 hours, 3 days) This course meets the training requirements for the positions of Task Force and Strike Team Leader. This course is designed to be interactive with several scenarios and exercises specific to wildland fire suppression. **Prerequisite(s): Qualified as any Single Resource Boss, successful completion of pre-course work. S-336 Tactical Decision Making in Wildland Fire (24-32 hours, 3 days) This course is designed to meet the training requirements in the Operations Section of the Incident Command System. It is designed primarily to instruct experienced single resource bosses and initial attack incident commanders in the tactics necessary at the strike team/task force leader level. It is also valuable for operations supervisors qualified at higher management levels who have not received training in wildfire suppression tactics **Prerequisite(s): Qualified as a Single Resource Boss or Initial Attack Incident Commander Type 4 (ICT4). S-339 Division/Group Supervisor (20 hours, 3 days) This course prepares the student to perform in the role of division/group supervisor. It will provide instruction in support of the specific tasks of division/group supervisor, but will not instruct the student in general management/supervision or in the incident command system (ICS), both of which the student should learn through prerequisite course work. Topics include: division/group management, organization interaction, and division operations. **Prerequisite(s): Qualified as a Task Force Leader (TFLD) OR qualified as an Incident Commander Type 3 (ICT3) OR qualified as an Incident Commander Type 4 (ICT4) and in any two strike team leader positions one must be STCR or STEN). S-346 Situation Unit Leader (18-24 hours, 3 days) This course is designed to prepare the student to accomplish the duties and responsibilities of a situation unit leader (SITL) on a large incident. Topics include: unit mission and function, organization of the unit, collecting incident information, technological aids, and reporting and displaying information. **Prerequisite(s): Qualified as any Strike Team Leader or Incident Commander Type 4 (ICT4) and qualified as two Single Resource Boss positions, one of which must be either Engine (ENGB) or Crew (CRWB), and successful completion of pre-course work and pre-course test. S-349 Resources Unit Leader/ Demobilization Unit Leader (28-32 hours, 4 days) This course is designed to prepare the student to accomplish the duties and responsibilities of a resource unit leader (RESL) and a demob unit leader (DMOB) on a large incident. Topics include: organizing and managing the unit, check-in, tracking resource status, operational planning, and resource unit products. **Prerequisite(s): S-248, successful completion of the pre-course work and pre-course test. 12 S-354 Facilities Unit Leader (28 hours, 4 days) This course is designed to prepare students to perform the duties of managing incident facilities. These duties including: gathering information about the assignment; planning and organizing the facilities unit; operating facilities unit on a day-to-day basis; administering the national shower contract; and demobilizing the unit. **Prerequisite(s): Qualified as a base/camp manager S-355 Ground Support Unit Leader This course is designed to prepare students to perform the duties of managing the transportation plan, maintenance and related service at an incident. Topics include: gathering information about the assignment; organizing, staffing, and laying out the unit; field inspection of equipment; operation and coordination of the unit with other units, and demobilization. **Prerequisite(s): Qualified as equipment manager (EQPM). S-356, J-252/253 Supply Unit Leader This course is designed to prepare students to perform the duties of managing the incident supply unit. **Prerequisite(s): Qualified as an ordering manager (ORDM) and as a receiving/distribution manager (RCDM). S-358 Communications Unit Leader (24 hours, 3 days) This course is designed to provide skills and knowledge needed to perform in the role of communications unit leader (COML). Topics include: gathering information, organizing the communications unit, designing communications systems, installing, maintaining, and assigning equipment, internal and external coordination, and demobilization. **Prerequisite(s): Qualified as an incident communications technician (COMT) and as an incident communications center manager (INCM), successful completion of pre-course work. S-359 Medical Unit Leader (20 hours, 3 days) This course is designed to provide the skills and knowledge needed to perform in the role of medical unit leader (MEDL). Topics include: gathering information; organizing the medical unit; supervising the unit; evaluation; documentation and demobilization. **Prerequisite(s): Prior or current certification as an Emergency Medical Technician or equivalent. S-360 Finance/Administration Unit Leader This course is designed to provide the prerequisite knowledge and skills necessary to perform the tasks of finance/administration unit leaders: time unit leader (TIME), procurement unit leader (PROC), compensation/claims unit leader (COMP), and cost unit leader (COST). This course provides cross training for all the finance/administration unit leaders. **Prerequisite(s): Qualified as personnel unit leader (PTRC) for time unit leader (TIME), qualified as equipment time recorder (EQTR) and meet agency procurement authority requirements for procurement unit leader (PROC), qualified as compensation-for-injury specialist (INJR) and claims specialist (CLMS) for compensation/claims unit leader (COMP), and/or have agency related cost estimation and analysis experience for cost unit leader (COST). 13 S-371 Helibase Manager This course prepares the student to perform the tasks required of a helibase manager. Exercises in this course are specific to wildland fire suppression. **Prerequisite(s): Qualified as a helicopter boss (HELB) or helicopter manager call-when-needed (HCWN) and successful completion of pre-course work. S-372 Helicopter Management This course is designed to prepare the student to demonstrate proficiency in all areas of managing a single helicopter operation in a wildand fire environment. Topics include: standard operation procedures, crew supervision, fiscal management and reporting, as well as risk management and mitigation. **Prerequisite(s): Successful performance as a helicopter crewmember (HECM), be qualified as any single resource boss, and successful completion of pre-course work. S-378 Air Tactical Group Supervisor (36-40 hours, 5 days) This course is designed to meet the training needs of an Air Tactical Group Supervisor (ATGS) and Helicopter Coordinator (HLCO) and the position task book developed for the position. Pre-course work covers air operations organization, responsibilities, and aircraft types and capabilities. Topics include: communications, navigation, air traffic control, strategy and tactics, and safety. **Prerequisite(s): Students must meet prerequisite for an ATGS or HLCO, and successfully complete the precourse test. S-390 Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior Calculations (32 hours, 5 days) This course is designed to introduce fire behavior calculations by manual methods, using nomograms and the Fire Behavior Handbook Appendix B. The student gains an understanding of fire behavior through studying inputs (weather, slope, fuel, and fuel moisture). The student also learns how to interpret fire behavior outputs, documentation processes, and fire behavior briefing components. **Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of S-290, and qualified as a single resource boss. S-403 Information Officer (28-32 hours, 4 days) This course meets the training requirements for a public information officer type 2 (PIO2). Topics include: information organization and assignment, developing a communications strategy, information operations, creating a safe environment, effective media relations, incident within an incident, community relations analysis, documentation, demobilization, and transitioning. Student must pass a final exam. **Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of S-130/190 Page 12

14 S-440 Planning Section Chief (20 hours, 3 days) This course is designed to meet a portion of the training needs of the planning section chief, type 2 (PSC2). Topics include: information gathering, strategies, meetings and briefings, incident action plan (IAP), interactions, forms, documents, supplies, demobilization and an optional technology section. RWSO Rural Water Supply Operations This course is designed to introduce trainees to the principles of setting up a tanker shuttle operation for supplying water to suppression resources. Certification: TFS UWI NFPA Wildland Firefighter Safety The course addresses problems faced by structural and wildland firefighters when fighting fires, especially those threatening structures, in the wildland/urban interface. Certification: NFPA WFVCD Wildland Firefighting for Volunteer and Career Departments This course covers basic firefighting methods, different tactics utilized in suppression of wildland fires, safety issues, PPE, and tools and equipment. 15 WMD WMD Awareness Course This course provides emergency responders with awareness-level instruction on recognition, avoidance, isolation, and notification techniques in a Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) environment. The course covers prevention and deterrence of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive (CBRNE) hazards. This course will be particularly beneficial to those who need an introduction to WMD training as well as those who need a refresher. **Prerequisite(s): None Certification: USFA Courses offered AH RESL All-Hazard Resources Unit Leader (4 Days) The Resources Unit Leader course is designed to prepare the student to accomplish the duties and responsibilities of a Resources Unit Leader (RESL) on an incident. The course is based on the critical need for maximum incident/event effectiveness and safety under ICS, which requires that all resources assigned to an incident or event must be accounted for. The Resources Unit Leader is responsible for maintaining the status of all assigned resources (primary and support) at an incident. This is accomplished by overseeing the check-in of all resources, maintaining a status-keeping system indicating current location and status of all resources, and maintenance of a master list of all resources, e.g., key supervisory personnel, primary and support resources, etc. The Resources Unit Leader position performs a key role in the development of the Incident Action Plan. Topics include: organizing and managing the unit, administrating check-in, tracking resource status, planning operations, and supervising resources unit products.
