10 Military Classification/Titles Classifications include 4 components Grade Rate/Rank Occupation Code Job Title 10

11 Military Classification: Grade, Rank/Rate Military branches use the same Grade structure Numerical designators for Enlisted, Warrant Officer, and Officer Each Grade has a corresponding name (known as Rank/Rate) Personnel are commonly referred to as their Rank/Rate; i.e. Sergeant, Chief, Lieutenant, Captain, etc. Military branches use their own terminology for the Rank/Rates 11

13 Military Classification: MOS and Titles Occupation Codes Army and Marine Corps refer to these as MOS Air Force refers to these codes as AFSC Navy uses NEC (Enlisted), and NOBC (Officers) terminology More than 2,100 Job Titles Include everything from Accountants to Veterinarians Not always easy to decipher Occupation Codes and Job Titles may be used interchangeably 13
