13 BDA Program Behavior Detection and Analysis BDA uses environmental baselines, certain behavioral cues, analysis techniques, document review, and casual conversation. BDOs are trained to detect behaviors that one exhibits in response to the fear of being discovered. 13

15 VIPR Operations (Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response) Mission: Promote confidence in and protect the nation s transportation systems through targeted deployment of integrated TSA assets utilizing screening and law enforcement capabilities in coordinated activities to augment security of any mode of transportation. Objective: Deterrence and prevention of terrorism Team: FAMs, TSOs, BDOs, TSI-Canine, TSIs, TSS-Es TSA routinely conducts thousands of VIPR operations each year. VIPR operations introduces an element of unpredictability to disrupt potential terrorist planning or operational activities. 15
