Innocents Killed: KFC extremists resorted to indiscriminate firing through AK47 rifles in the Market of Abohar, Punjab on evening, which resulted in the killing of 33 Hindus and injuries to 25 others. Innocent Killed: Terrorist belonging to KFC(Yadu) killed 11 businessmen/ traders at Talwandi Bhai, dist. Ferozpur on

Bomb Explosion: There was an explosion in a Delhi bound bus at Panipat bus stand on , which resulted in killing of 11 passengers and injuries to 39 others. BKI outfit was involved in the incident. Bomb Explosion: There was a powerful bomb blast caused by Sikh extremists in the Jammu bound bus from Moga via Pathankot on near village Bahroli Kalan, Tehsil Pathankot Distt. Gurdaspur, resulting in the killing of 16 persons and injuries to 33. Innocent Killed: The KFC (Yadu) terrorists killed 14 Bihari labourers (Hindus) in Vill. Malloke, PS Zira, Ferozpur, Punjab on the night intervening May 27/28 by using AK47 rifles. VIP Killing: Some suspected extremists of KLF outfit killed Balwant Singh, former Finance Minister of Punjab on at Chandigarh July 23,1990 Innocent Killing: Some extremists of BKI shot dead M.L. 3 from AIR Chandigarh January 15, 1991 March 22,1991 March 23,1991 Attack on Railway Passengers/Attack on Trains: In two major terrorist attacks on trains in Distt. Ludhiana 74 passengers were killed and 46 others injured. The first incident took place about 2 kms towards Ludhiana from Baddowal Railway Station. At about 2120hrs, 3 Sikh extremists boarded the engine of the train and forced the driver to drive the train smoothly. After some time, some associates of these Sikh extremists opened fire on passengers in 4 compartments. In the 2 nd incident which took place at Railway Station Qila Raipur at around 2210hrs, about Sikh extremists with muffled faces came to Railway Station entered in Ludhiana bound 5-Jakhal-Ludhiana passenger train and fired/ killed the passengers in the compartment of the train. Innocent Killed: 13/14 extremists of KCF/P shod dead 27 employees of Swaraj Tractor Company, Sialba Majri Ropar, Punjab on They used AK47 and 303 rifles in the incident. Bomb Explosion: KCF/Z triggered two powerful explosions in quick successions at Sahni Bazar J.J. Colony, Khayala, New Delhi on , in which, 11 persons were killed and

Innocent Killed: Six unidentified KCF/Z extremists killed 18 Hindus and injured 21 at Sewewala, Faridkot on They used AK47 rifles, stenguns and pistols in the incident. VIP Killing: Ajit Singh, DIG, was killed in an encounter with Sikh militants belonging to BTFK(S) at village Ratoul PS City Tarn Taran, Distt. Amritsar on Innocent Killed: Some extremists of KLF (Budhsinghwala) shot dead 50 train passengers and inflicted injuries to 26 at Baddowal Railway Station on AK47 rifles were used in this incident. Innocent Killed: some extremists of KLF (Budhsinghwala) shot dead 26 train passengers and caused injuries to 16 near Qila Raipur Ludhiana on Innocent Killed: Some extremists shot dead 13 Hindus near Sanghera (Sangrur) on with the help of AK47 rifles. VIP Killing: Joginder Singh Khaira, SP, Hqrs Ropar, was shot dead by some extremists of BTFK outfit near Khaut Manpur (Ropar) on The assailants used AK47 rifles in the incidents. AK47 rifles was used in the crime. Innocent Killed: Some extremists of KLF (Budhsingwala) shot dead 52 train passengers and caused injuries to 18 on near Sodhian, Ludhiana. AK47 rifles were used in this incident. VIP Killing: Some terrorists of KLF opened fire through AK47 rifles on the car of Sher Singh President of All India Youth Akali Dal at Aroorgarh, PS Sherpur, killing him and his two gunmen on the spot on Innocents Killed: KLF extremists belonging to Paramjit Singh Pinka killed 15 engineers/technicians of Indian Acrylics Limited and injured 03 at Hari Krishanpura, PS Bhawanigarh Distt. Sangrur on The extremists used AK47 rifles in the incident March 21,1992 April 1, 1992 Innocents Killed: Four unidentified terrorists of KLF fired indiscriminately in the market area of Ahmedgarh on and killed 14 Hindus and injured 05 others. VIP Killing: R.S. Tiwana, SP, was killed in a bomb explosion near village Mundian, PS Sadar, Ludhiana on BKI outfit was suspected to be behind at killing

6 April 4, 1992 Bomb Explosion: An explosion took place in the office of Kuwait Airlines at Delhi on April 4, April 6, 1992 Innocent Killing: A.K. Dev, Zonal Manager, State Bank of Patiala, was killed by suspected KCF terrorists near Doraha, Ludhiana on AK47 rifles were used in the incident. May 6, 1992 VIP Killing: A.K. Mishra, Commissioner Excise and Taxation, Punjab was killed by extremists belonging to Second Panthic Committee at Patiala on , who used AK47 rifles in the attack May 18, 1992 August 20, 1992 September 9,1992 October 13,1992 Innocent Killing: BKI terrorists kidnapped M.L. Manchanda, Assistant Director, AIR Station, Patiala, from the bus stand of Patiala on His headless body was later recovered from near Shambhu Distt. Patiala and head from near Doorbeen Chowk, Ambala on May 27,1992. Attack on VVIP: Two extremists of KCF attacked the convoy of Darbara Singh, CM Punjab, with hand grenades at Rahon on The CM escaped unhurt but 18 persons of his escort including Education Minister received injuries. VIP Killing: Two BKI terrorists killed Inderjit Singh, Genl. Secretary, Congress (1) using AK47 rifle. VIP Killing: Darshan Singh Kaypee (former Congress Minister) was shot dead by some extremists belonging to KCF/P on near Kuku-ki-Dhab

AK47 rifles were used in the incident March 12,1993 April 24, 1993 September 11, 1993 The city of Mumbai was rocked by a series of Bomb explosions within a span of two and half hours (1330 to 1600 hrs ) on March 12, The explosions were caused at Commercial Centers and other landmarks of Mumbai like Air India building, Stock Exchange building, Hotel Sea Rock, Hotel Juhu Centaur, Hotel Airport Centaur, Plaza Theatre etc. Besides, hand grenades were also thrown at Hindu Fishermen Colony in Mahim and Sahar Airport, Mumbai. The incidents were an outcome of a criminal conspiracy, in which 257 persons had lost their lives and 713 others sustained injuries. The conspiracy was hatched by Dawood Ibrahim in conjunction with Pak establishment. Hijack: IA Aircraft bound to Srinagar via Jammu from Delhi was hijack by HuM activist who wanted to take the plane to Lahore, but permission was refused by Pak Aviation authorities. Later, the Aircraft landed at Amritsar, where the hijack was killed. Attack on VIP: There was an attack on M.S. Bitta (The then President Youth Congress and now President AIATF ) by KLF extremists in front of Youth Congress Office, Raisina Road, New Delhi on , which resulted in the killing of 9 persons and injuries to 28 persons

8 1994 September/O ctober, August 31, May 21, 1996 December 2,1996 Kidnapping: Four foreign national (British-3, US-1) were abducted in Delhi by the Harkatul-Ansar (HuA) during September/October, 1994 to demand the release of HUA leaders including Maulana Masood Azhar ( present chief of JeM), Sajjad Afghani (Chief Commander, HuA-since killed) and Nasarullah Langaryal (Military advisor, HUJI), and 7 other militants of different outfits held in jails in J&K. VIIP Killing: Beant Singh Chief Minister, Punjab along with 17 others were killed by Dilawar Singh( a human bomb with 7 kgs of RDX kept in a belt worn by him). The BKI owned responsibility for this assassination. Bomb Explosion: A powerful bomb explosion (1820 hrs., May21,1996) occurred in the Central Market, Lajpat Nagar, Delhi, in which, 14 persons were killed and 39 injured. JKIF and Lashkar-e-Sajjad claimed responsibility for the blast. Bomb Explosion: A explosion caused by suspected KZF militants took place in Coach S4 of Jhelum Express at Ambala on The train was coming from Pune and was to go to Jammu. The explosion caused by RDX, resulted in

9 killing of 10 persons and injuries to July 8, 1997 Bomb Explosion: In an explosion caused by RDX, 34 persons were killed and 63 others injured in a train at Lehra Khana Railway Station (Bathinda) on The police arrested 6 activists of KCF in this connection Dec Jan Bomb Explosion: Pak-trained Islamic militants carried out a series of explosions (33) in Delhi and adjoining States between December 1996 and January 1998, in which, 21 persons were killed and over 400 others injured. Abdul Tunda resident of Pilkhuwa (UP), based in Pakistan & Bangladesh, was the kingpin behind the training and subsequent operations in India July 6/7, 1998 VIP Killing: On the night intervening July 6/7, 1998, Mohinder Singh, MLA, SAD, was killed by suspected Sikh extremists in his own house in village Saroopwali, PS Sadar, Batala, Distt. Gurdaspur November 11, 1999 Bomb Explosion: A powerful blast took place in Pooja Express at Damtal, Himachal Pradesh, which had come from Jammu and was proceeding towards Delhi in the evening of The explosion resulted in death of 14 passengers and injuries to 47. It is suspected that KZF was 14 47

10 responsible for this blast. December 24, 1999 Hijack: Indian Airlines Flight No. IC-814 from Kathmandu to Delhi was hijacked on by 5 Pakistani hijackers. The hijackers were armed with hand grenades, revolvers and knives. The aircraft landed at Amritsar airport for refueling and when the hijackers stabbed the passengers, the pilot took off on account of threat from the hijackers. The aircraft was forcibly taken to Lahore and then to Dubai and finally to Kandahar, Afghanistan. The hijackers demanded the release of 36 militants lodged in Indian Jails, the dead body of Sajjad Afghani (who died while making an attempt to escape from the Jammu jail) and 20 crore US Dollars. After negotiations they agreed to release the hostages and the aircraft against release of 3 militants named, Maulana Masood Azhar, Syed Umar Sheikh and Mushtaq Zargar. Accordingly, the Govt. of Indian released all the 3 militants and on their arrival in Kandahar, the 5 hijackers escaped from the aircraft. During the process of hijacking, one stabbed victim Rupin Katyal died and another Satnam Singh was seriously injured

11 2000 May-July 2000 October 26, 2000 Dec. 22, 2000 Bomb Explosion: Pak inspired conspiracy was behind planting of 12 IEDs by the Deendar Anjuman in religious institutions/congregations in the Southern states of Andhra Pradesh (7), Goa (1) and Karnataka (4) between May 21 and July 9, 2000, resulting in injuries to 24 persons. {Machilipatnam (May 21), Vijayawada (May 25), Vikarabad and Medak (May 28), Ongole (June 8), Vasco (June 8), Guntur (June 25), Hubli (July 8), and Bangalore (July 9)}. Two of the devices, one each in Vikarabad and Medak in Andhra Pradesh, did not explode. The targets of attack included mainly churches (10), one mosque and one temple. The main aim of the attacks appeared to be to disrupt relations between different communities. Explosion in Train: On October 26, 2000, Sikh militants caused an explosion in Bathinda-Riwari Express Train near village Bhangi Nihalsinghwala (District Bathinda). In the incident, 2 persons had died and 26 sustained injuries. No Sikh militant organisation claimed responsibility for the incident. Fidayeen Attack on Red Fort: A Fidayeen group of two Lashkare-Toiba terrorists dressed in jackets and jeans sneaked into the Red Fort reportedly from Lahori Gate at about 2130 hrs. After entering the Red Fort, terrorists switched off the lighting system inside the Fort plunging

12 the entire Fort into darkness. A regimental party of the Rajputana Rifles was going on inside the Fort at that time. It is suspected that terrorist had dumped arms inside the Fort well before this insider. The terrorists later used these arms after entering the Fort. After switching off the lights, the terrorists started firing at army pickets within the Fort and ran around firing at random. They engaged the jawans at three places inside the Fort. After firing for about 45 minutes both the terrorists managed to escape under the cover of darkness by scaling the high wall on the ring road side of the Fort. AK47 and AK56 assault rifles were used in the attack. Three persons including two jawans and a civilian (barber) employee were killed in the incident. Both the terrorist managed to escape unhurt Jan June 2001 Bomb Explosion: Student Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) Partnered the Hizb-ul- Mujahideen had carried out 13 explosions and shooting in Delhi, UP and Maharashtra since January These incidents took a toll of 16 lives and resulted in injuries to 80 other. The activity ranged from the killing of an ADM at Kanpur ( during the communal disturbances there in March 2001), and the placement of IEDs in trains and buses, outside important Central Govt. and State Govt. buildings, and near RSS headquarters/ Hindu temples and the house of a Hindu leader at Kanpur. Involvement of SIMI 16 80

13 activities in association with Hizul-Mujahideen in the following terrorist actions came to notice during the interrogation of the arrested persons. Dec. 13, 2001 Attack on Parliament: On Dec. 13, at about 1130 hrs. a group of 5 militants belonging to JeM outfit entered the Parliament House through the main gate. The militants had come in a white Ambassador Car. On entering the Parliament complex the car started racing towards one of the gates of the Parliament House. It was however, stopped in its tracks by a parked car belonging to Vice President. On being stopped, the five terrorists came out of the car and started running in all direction firing at random. They were trying to run towards the gates of the building to make entry into the Parliament House. However, they failed to enter Parliament House as alert security staff closed all gates. The SFs deployed in the complex of the Parliament retaliated and in the ensuing encounter that followed between security personnel and the militants, all the 5 terrorists and 9 security personnel including six from the Delhi Police/CRPF were killed. 16 persons sustained injuries. All the five killed terrorists were Pakistanis and identified as: Mohd. Hamza, Haider, Rana, Raja and Mohammad. Valley based Operational Chief of JeM, Ghazi Shahnawaz Khan, key accused in the Parliament Attack was one of the two terrorists killed in an encounter with BSF at Safakadal, 09 16
