2 art 1: General Information a. Overview: Thunderbird Cadet Squadron is sponsoring an Emergency Services Field Training Exercise at the Cedar Valley Airport on 4-6 December 2015 to train interested Civil Air Patrol members in Ground Team Three (GT-3), Mission Radio Operator (MRO) and Mission Staff Assistant (MSA). This exercise is intended as a teaching and practical application of skills environment to gain experience and practice for real emergency service missions. While focusing on basic tasks, this FTX is open to all skill levels willing to learn, teach and participate. b. Objectives: 1. Objective 1 - To provide a scenario based situation in which members may learn specific tasks and practical skills related to GT-3, MRO and MSA though application during a training mission. 2. Objective 2 - To provide instructors and planners with experience in conducting scenario based training to provide quality training, evaluation and mission readiness. 3. Objective 3 To provide an informational, purposeful, fun, safe event for those interested in the Emergency Services mission of Civil Air Patrol. c. Attendance Requirements: 1. This event is open to all Utah Wing members. All members wishing to participate in training must comply with the following, a. Pay Individual Cost - $30.00 (due at arrival for training) Cash or check (payable to Thunderbird Cadet Squadron) b. All participants must have a CAPF 101 at the start of training and have the minimum required GT-3 items. 1. Cadets a. Must have completed the Curry Achievement b. Must have a signed CAPF Seniors a. Must have completed Level 1 c. Members wishing to participate please notify 2LT Danny Evans via text at or at (thunderbirddeputycommander@gmail.com). Please make your intent to attend by 30 November 2015, this will help in planning for meals. Part 2: Personnel a. Planning and administration positions The following have been identified as key positions for planning and training. 3 Part 3: Logistics a. Billeting: No structural billeting options are available at the training site. Tents and Trailers will be allowed, be advised no utility hook ups are available. Participants living in the local area will be permitted to travel to and from the training site via signing in and out of mission base. b. Meals: Breakfast and Dinner are provided Friday (dinner only), Saturday and Sunday (breakfast only) and are included in the FTX cost. Lunch will be from the participants 24 hour pack. MRE s will be available for purchase at a cost of $12.00 each. 1. Equipment: The following equipment will be required for mission accomplishment. 1. Three CAP Vehicles for ground team and administrative use. 2. Six handheld radios, dispersed between staff and participants. 3. One base station, mission base. 4. One repeater. 5. One trailer, serving as mission base. 6. One generator, for mission base. 7. White boards 8. Maps d. Allotment of funds: 1. The following is the allotment of funds, a. Food - $300 b. Fuel - $200 (vehicles and generators) c. Donation for facility use - $ Extra funds received through donations or FTX fees will be retained and applied to further Emergency Services training. Part 4. Safety a. General: Participants will attend a safety briefing prior to the start of every training evolution. Each brief will contain information on local weather, wildlife, scenario hazards and any noticeable hazards. ORM will be used before, during and evaluated after each sortie. b. Medical: There will be a Utah Certified Emergency Medical Technician on staff for evaluation and treatment of minor injuries not requiring evacuation. c. Medical Evacuation: There will be a Utah Certified Emergency Medical Technician on staff for evaluation and pre hospital treatment of injuries requiring evacuation.

4 Part 5. Execution of Training a. Set up This FTX will be set to member participation and skill level. Members who are working towards the next skill level are encouraged to attend and every effort will be made to arrange for a qualifier/trainer. There are two mission scenarios. Mission one will involve a missing person and mission two includes a possible downed aircraft. Mission base for this exercise will be located at Cedar Valley Airport. b. Execution Ground team trainees will be organized into two or four teams depending on the total number of participants and instructors. Each team will participate in both ground team missions and serve at mission base in the role of MSA and MRO. Teams will rotate from a field search exercise to mission base or mission base to field search exercise during one of the four scheduled sorties. c. Evaluation Instructors will be assigned to a specific area to maintain consistent training and evaluation. Evaluation will be based on the appropriate CAP reference material. d. Communication e.
