9 CP27 ACTEDS Plan Tonie Pangco / / tonie.j.pangco.civ@mail.mil Purpose of an ACTEDs Plan: Provides for systematic and planned training and development of Army Career Civilians Blends progressive and sequential work assignments and formal training for individuals as they progress through the levels of the career program (Tactical Operational Strategic) (Technical Functional Manager Enterprise) Objectives: Meets the needs of the Army for qualified, trained housing personnel Provide a pathway for individual professionals to grow and reach their career potential OACSIM is the Proponent Agency Universal training priorities: Priority I - Mandatory training that is Essential for mission accomplishment Priority II - Training that Improves the quality of mission accomplishment Priority III - Training should be funded after Priority I and II requirements Competitively Selected Training includes: Individuals are competitively selected for Army-wide programs such as Senior Service College, Fellowship Programs, CES, ELDP, DSDLP and Senior Leader Development course (Centrally funded by HQDA) Competitive professional development opportunities that include university study, developmental assignments, FEI, trainingwith-industry, and short-term training (Can be funded by CP27 ACTEDS) 9

13 Deliverables to Career Planning Board Intern CPB Task 1: Reliance in Housing 5 weeks What: Interview 3 Housing personnel on what other Housing staff mean to them for example: what they ve learned, relationships they ve grown, how they rely on other Housing professionals in their daily operations Learning Objectives: networking; what a close-knit community Housing is; learning comes in good and bad ; writing succinctly. Deliverable: A 1 slide summary of each interview (incl. script notes) / briefing to panel of CPB members. Intern CPB Task 2: Book/Article Review 7 weeks What: Read a book or professional article on a topic (suggested: leadership, the Army, customer service, learning theories/processes). Learning Objectives: leadership; customer service; learning theories; reading comprehension; writing succinctly; improved oral presentation skills. Deliverable: An Executive Summary (EXSUM) and 10 minute briefing on the chosen topic/book. 12 weeks Intern CPB Task 3: Intern 101 Brief What: As a team (all interns together), create a slide deck that can be presented or passed out to new CP27 Interns. Learning Objectives: leadership; teamwork; communication skills; writing succinctly. Deliverable: One briefing (15-20 minutes) to Career Planning Board, including slide deck. 14
