With reference to the public interest litigation No.7107/2008, The Hon ble High Court in its order dated directed the respondent No.(6)Bruhut Mahanagara Palike to appoint a committee under the Chairmanship of Sri Yellappa Reddy, I.F.S. (Retd) to oversee the developmental works in the limits of the Palike, such as developmental works to meet infrastructure requirements and basic needs of the public like road widening, setting up of the international Airport, Metro Rail, etc. without affecting the environment. This Sustainable Development Empowered Technical Advisory Committee was ordered to be formed. Accordingly, as per the order of the Hon ble High Court, the Bruhut Mahanagara Palike has formed the Sustainable Development Empowered Technical Advisory Committee with the following s:- 1. 3 1. In the Forest section of the, Sri M.R Suresh is working as the Tree Officer and Assistant Conservator of Forests Sub-Section-1, B.B.M.P. He has been appointed as Secretary of the committee with the permission of the respected Chairman; he will fix up the meeting dates, send invitations to the members, record the proceedings of the meetings, maintain the records of the proceedings and files and he will be responsible for keeping the Chairman informed about the arrangements made for meetings in advance and carry on with the other work of the Committee. 2. Keeping in mind the basic needs of the public and with regard to the progress of the developmental works, in cases where the trees are to be removed for widening of roads, a Technical Committee consisting of three to five members to inspect the spots has to be formed and its report obtained. 3. In the absence of the Chairman for the meetings, Dr Parmeshwar shall be Acting Chairman to conduct the meetings. 4. The applicant officers should be present with all the necessary documents, and place them before the committee and the concerned Assistant Conservator of Forests and the Forest Officers and the Area Forest Officers should attend the meetings with all the concerned records. 5. The committee shall take up for discussion the traffic situation in the city, representations from Senior Citizens, children and the differently abled and give suitable directions 6. The proceedings of the meetings shall be held in Kannada and decisions recorded in Kannada only. 7. In case consensus is not arrived at in any matter, the fact must be brought to the notice of the legal aid committees Lok Adalath as per the order of the Hon ble High Court of Karnataka.
