Michelle Smith and her K-9 partner Hasj performed a Demo for Spessard Holland Elementary on Nov. 8th for the annual Great American Teach-In Officer Broome received a "Thank You" bucket of goodies from Spessard Holland Elementary for presenting during the Great American Teach-In While on patrol, Officer Cody Vaughn rewarded a group of kids who brought home good report cards, with some special treats!
3 COMMUNICATIONS -SUBMITTED BY JANE CASSELMAN NEW EMPLOYEES: Lauren Tomlinson has successfully completed her six (6) months probationary period EDUCATION ACHIEVEMENTS: Jane Casselman and Jennifer Modzelewski attended the FDLE Regional Work Group Meeting for Grgion 3 on Nov. 9th. At the meeting information was obtained in order to emplement new policy and procedure changes for FCIC/NCIC Testing. Jenna Frey attended a four (4) hr CJIS Full Access Training Class held by HDLE in Tampa. She has successfully completed four (4) On-Line FEMA Classes the will go toward her State Certification. Telecommunications Personnel handled the following calls for service this month: 809 Emergency (9--),9 Police Dept. 3 Electric Dept. 30 Fire Dept. 5 City Fleet 4 Public Works DETECTIVE BUREAU - SGT. ERIC SHEROUSE EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS: Detectives and Crime Scene Personnel completed Police Law Institute and Police One Academy assignments. Detectives competed Criminal Investigations/Search and Seizure Training through FDLE. Det. Michael Prevatt attended the Florida Pension Conference in Orlando. SIGNIFICANT CASES/ARRESTS: COOPER, JAVONTA: Strong-Arm Robbery and Violation of Probation WILSON, TERRANCE: two () counts of Lew Molestation involving two () separate victims. ELLIOT, JANET: Fraud and Criminal Use of Personal Identification CRAWLEY, CAROLYN: Larceny and Uttering a Forged Instrument. OTHER ACTIVITY / INFORMATION Detectives are currently working 07 active felony investigations CRIME SCENE & EVIDENCE ACTIVITY: Crime Scene Tech Jane Sohn responded to five (5) scenes and processed evidence on nine (9) felony investigations. Her efforts this month resulted in the recovery of a combined six (6) latent prints from crime scenes. Evidence Custodian Stacey Perry received and collogued 48 items of evidence for this month. COMMUNITY SERVICES TEAM (C.S.T.) - SGT. BRYAN DORMAN NEW EMPLOYEES: CST Officer David Bilbrey has been selected to fill one of the two K-9 Vacancies. EDUCATION ACHIEVEMENTS: Officers completed Police Law and Police One on-line training. PATROL / TRAFFIC ACTIVITIES CST continued to focus traffic enforcement in the school zones throughout the city. Participated in a mentorship program at Floral Ave. Elementary targeting At Risk Students CST conducted several traffic studies in various locations using the speed trailer. CST provided security for the City Commission Meetings on Nov. nd and 6th. COMMUNITY SERVICE / EVENTS: Nov. 0th Attended Monthly EPAC Meeting, 5:30 PM at Carver Rec. Center. Nov. 4th, Saturday, CST assisted at the Robotics Competition Event held at Spessard Holland Elementary School. Also assisting were the COP Volunteers as well as Explorer Post No. 63 Nov. 0th the Department held a Thanksgiving Dinner for employees and volunteers. Nov. 8th C.S.T. Officers participated in the Great American Teach-In at Spessard Holland Elementary School. Nov. 4th C.S.T. participated in the Library's Community Heroes Event held at the Civic Center parking lot.
