Officer Hauser completed the Traffic Homicide Case that occurred at the intersection of MLK Blvd / 0th Ave. Case # The Public Safety Aide assigned to Charlie Squad assisted with the Annual City-Wide 4th of July Event held at Mosaic Park. On July 0th, a fire was discovered in the Evidence Room at approx. 5:0 PM. Charlie Squad responded to assist the Fire Dept. personnel with evacuating procedures and relocating the Communications Operations. None to report Communications personnel completed their monthly Police One on-line training. Hours earned go toward their continuing education hours required by the State of Florida for 9-- Recertification. The Communications Operation Center was forced to relocate to the I.T. Facility on July 0th due to the fire/smoke damage, and will remain there until further notice. This month Communications handled following calls for service: (747) Calls for Emergency 9--, (20) Fire Dept, (,72) Police Dept, (42) call-outs to Public Works, (44) call-outs to Electric Dept., (8) call-outs to City Fleet.

July 20-24, the Bartow Police Explorers participated in a 40 hour Ride-Along academy at George Jenkins High School.

ERIC SHEROUSE SIGNIFICANT CASES/ARRESTS: * Thomas Joseph McDonnell-Sex Offender Violation, Failure to Register and Report * Azinde Wiggins-Grand Theft Auto * Mathew Allen Pender-Grand Theft Auto OTHER ACTIVITY / INFORMATION Detectives have worked 24/7 since July 0th when a fire was discovered burning in the Evidence Room. They have been tasked with conducting a complete inventory and re-packaging all of the evidence that was located in the damaged room. July 20-24, the Bartow Police Explorers participated in a 40 hour Ride-Along academy at George Jenkins High School. The class was taught by a variety of law enforcement officials and attended by various explorer posts throughout Central Florida. The week long extensive training is mandatory for Explorers that wish to ride along with officers during a patrol shift. Assisting with the Explorer Post Training were C.S.T. Officers David Bilbrey, Randy Velez, and Explorer Advisors Officer Broome and Detective Tommy Stokes. C.O.P. Volunteers Delores and David Lane assisted the officers as well. Dorman coordinated Parking Enforcement Specialist for Civilians Course. The course instructor was Bartow Police volunteer Bobby Craven. Five (5) C.O.P. Volunteers, Public Safety Aides Tyrinda Pride and Sabrina Cowart and C.S.T. Coordinator Lyn Bryan also attended the six (6) hour training. All attendees completed the course and passed the test and are now certified to issue Parking Citations throughout the city. * None this month PATROL / TRAFFIC ACTIVITIES The speed trailer was used in locations around the city to monitor speed. Special recognition to Tiffany Somerlot, Chief Hall's Assistant. Tiffany completed her Bachelors Degree in Public Management from Polk State College and will graduation in August.
