2 ALPHA SQUAD Sgt. Paul O Dell NEW EMPLOYEES: Officer Anton Jefferson EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS: None reported Andrew Smith-Possession of Cocaine and Battery. CHARLIE SQUAD Sgt. Gerad Hunt NEW EMPLOYEES: Officer Edmonston was assigned to this squad EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS: Officer Smith completed 16 hours of K-9 Training and 6 hours of Explorer Training. Laura Lee Fletcher-Possession/Cocaine, Possession/Narcotic Paraphernalia COMMUNITY SERVICE: Saturday, May 3 rd Officer Michelle Smith conducted a K-9 Demonstration for Spessard Holland Elementary OTHER SIGNIFICANT INFORMATION: Charlie Squad was instrumental in providing narcotics information to Det. Zawacki regarding sales of narcotics at 780 W Davidson St. Through his investigation, Det. Zawacki was able to obtain enough information to request a search of the suspect, Glenn Collier s residence. Search of the residence revealed a loaded.357 handgun, 1 ½ pounds of Cannabis and approximately 1 pound of synthetic narcotics. Charlie Squad responded to and investigated the Homicide Attempt of victim Paul Wesley. Through the investigation, it was determined the suspect was Ronnie Rias. Rias was located by members of Charlie Squad, and arrested without incident. Rias was turned over to Det. Reynolds for further investigation. BRAVO SQUAD Sgt. J. D. Goff NEW EMPLOYEES: No new employees EDUCATION ACHIEVEMENTS: Sgt. Goff conducted Simulator Training for all member of Bravo Squad. Train the Trainer Instruction was provided for Sgt. Reall. Robert White: Burglary/Occupied Dwelling, Possession Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Methamphetamines, Resist Officer OTHER SIGNIFICANT INFORMATION: Patrol strategies were adjusted in reaction to a spike in reported burglaries in the southern and eastern sections of the city. Using the AVL system (real time mapping) and spatial data provided by the RMS mapping function, daily trends were analyzed and used to adjust patrol activity if needed to ensure these decreases were maintained. Due to this, and a high commitment by the members of Bravo Squad, a decrease in criminal activity in those areas was realized.

3 DELTA SQUAD Sgt. William Reall NEW EMPLOYEES: No new employees EDUCATION ACHIEVEMENTS: None to report Candice Baker: Possession of Methamphetamines SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS Sgt. Hiram Saunders Two (2) high school students for trespass/resist w/o, and One (1) high school student for poss/cannabis. One (1) Summerlin Academy student for Lewd/Lasc. Molestation One (1) middle school student for battery Baker acted two (2) middle school students. COMMUNITY SERVICE EVENTS: Participated in the annual Just Say NO to Drugs Parade and Rally held May 6 th. DETECTIVE BUREAU Det. Eric Sherouse SIGNIFICANT ARRESTS/INVESTIGATIONS: Kenny Lott-Lewd Battery and VOP/Robbery Mark Raulerson-several counts of Felony Retail Theft from Publix. Miguel Nieves- Burglary Khalil Holt for Lewd Battery and Child Abuse Christopher Edwards in connection with the Armed Robbery on Woodlawn. Mario Crawford-several counts of Burglary, in relation to 2 burglaries which occurred in the east Church Street area. Ronnie Rias-Attempted Murder charges, resolving the shooting incident on Austin Street. Anthony Grelishius-Burglary. Det. Zawacki executed a search warrant located at 290 Park Lane, Bartow, Fl., with the assistance of other members of the Bureau. During the search warrant approximately $ cash, four (4) firearms, and a Ford truck were seized. Justin Haines was arrested and charged accordingly Det. Zawacki conducted a knock and talk at the residence of Glenn Collier based upon information which was received by patrol. Collier was on probation for past narcotics sales. Collier was arrested for VOP, and a search of his residence later revealed approximately two pounds of cannabis, over two pounds of k-2, and a loaded firearm. Collier was also charged with possession of firearm/ammo by convicted felon, poss. of cannabis wits 1000'ft daycare facility, possession of drug paraphernalia. COMMUNITY SERVICE: Detective Michael Prevatt and Chief Joe Hall attended a staff meeting/training for employees of the Community Southern Bank and presented a program on Economic Crimes and Fraud and Bank Robbery.

4 COMMUNITY SERVICES TEAM (C.S.T.) Submitted by: Cpl. Bryan Dorman EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS: Cpl. Dorman, Ofc. Sudhoff and Ofc. Tagliarini attended the annual HIDTA conference in Orlando, SIGNIFIGANT ARRESTS: Quinton Evans-Aggravated Battery and Battery. D Vontray Williams-Trespassing on School Property and Resisting an Officer without Force. Michael Jones-Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Resisting an Officer without Force and Driving While License Suspended. While working a special law enforcement operation in the Azalea Gardens area, Cpl. Dorman observed a orange colored Hummer driving south on Golfview Avenue. After noticing the driver was not wearing a seat belt, Cpl. Dorman ordered the vehicle to stop; the driver refused and entered the complex. Eventually, as the vehicle was stopped inside the complex, Cpl. Dorman observed the driver jump into the back seat, and the rear seat passenger jump into the driver seat. Back up Officers arrived on scene and all occupants were taken out of the vehicle. A firearm was observed lying on the driver floorboard and another firearm (shotgun) was located on the rear floorboard. The driver (Jones) was arrested. Several items of jewelry were located in a black bag on the driver floorboard next to the semi-automatic firearm. One piece of the jewelry was confirmed as stolen in a previous burglary in Bartow. All items were impounded for further investigation. The Detective Bureau is currently following up in an attempt to find owners of the jewelry. COMMUNITY EVENTS: We Co-sponsored the 1st annual GatorBots robotics competition at Spessard Holland Elementary held on May 3 rd. During the event, the Community Services Team, with assistance from C.O.P. Volunteers, operated the concessions and monitored the Pig Pen jail. $700 was netted in profit for the club. There were approximately 200 people in attendance from around Polk County. A K-9 Unit presented a demonstration in conjunction with this event Participated in the Annual Just Say No to Drugs Parade and Rally on May 6 th. During this event, we assisted in traffic control and security for the pep rally at Bartow High School. On May 16 th CST participated in two (2) separate events. The annual Spring Fling at Spessard Holland Elementary (afternoon) and The Polk County Commuter Services Day and National Bike to Work Day event at Fort Blunt Park from 10:00am- 1:00pm. During the Bike Event we offered promotional items, brochures, and bike and pedestrian safety information. Linda Waligorski was on hand to fit patrons with free bike helmets. CST also assisted by grilling the free food that was provided to hundreds of people in attendance.

5 COMMUNITY SERVICE: CST focused enforcement and patrol activities in the EPAC area of Bartow. This was accomplished during the daytime and nighttime hours. CST spearheaded a directed enforcement activity during the weekend of May24th, 25 th called Operation Safe Neighborhood. During this enforcement activity, the following were the reported statistics: 2 arrests, 6 citations, 19 documented Field Contacts, 3 Trespass warnings issued in Azalea Gardens, and 190 patrol miles. This operation took place in and around the immediate area of Azalea Gardens. Several Patrol units also participated. CST utilized the new speed/message trailer at several key locations to warn motorists of various concerns. The trailer was set up in school zones, and high traffic areas in town. CURRENT AND UPCOMING ACTIVITIES: Continues to work flexible shifts to increase patrol to deter burglaries and other criminal offenses. We also assist Patrol whenever needed to ensure adequate police coverage in the city. We continue to present CopDots to citizens as a new crime fighting tool. Preparing for a neighborhood watch meeting on June 14 th in a Kissingen Avenue community, and planning to participate in the Juneteenth event on the West side of Bartow during the weekend of June 21 st.
