2 ARMY ROTC Army ROTC is a 4/2-year program that allows you to earn your commission as a US Army Officer while completing your Bachelor/Master s Degree. Army ROTC is available at over 1,100 colleges and universities nationwide. Students in the Army ROTC Program take one Military Science class per semester. Who is eligible? High school graduates, at least 17 years old US Citizen of good moral character 2.0 GPA, 1000 SAT (Math & Reading) or 19 ACT Department of Defense Medical Exam (DODMERB)

4 UTSA ARMY ROTC UTSA Commissioned it s first class of 25 Lieutenants in May of The UTSA ROADRUNNER Battalion has expanded and is now responsible for the ROTC Programs at: Wayland Baptist University, Texas A&M San Antonio, and the Alamo Colleges. (Currently NVC and SAC) UTSA s signs of success: One of the top 3 officer producing schools in Texas 280 Cadets (currently) enrolled 37% of 2014 Seniors named National Distinguished Military Graduates Over 90% of graduates received top two branches Color Guard, Ranger Challenge, Bataan Death March Army 10-Miler, Football Push-Up Detail, Recruiting Intramural sports softball, soccer, basketball, volleyball, football, etc.

5 ARMY ROTC High School National Scholarship (4-year and 3-year) Campus Based Scholarship (2, 2 ½ or 3-year) It offers merit-based scholarships that can pay up to the full cost of tuition and open educational opportunities. Army ROTC Scholarship Requirements 2.5 GPA Pass the Army Physical Fitness Test Medically Qualified Army ROTC Scholarship Benefits 100% of tuition and fees or $10,000 / year room and board Cadet Stipend ($420 / month) Allowance for Books ($1,200 / year)

6 ARMY ROTC- Service Obligation Total: 8 Years Active Duty: Scholarship: 4 years AD/4 years IRR Non-Scholarship: 3 years AD/5 years IRR ARNG/USAR: 8 years: 1x weekend a month 2 week annual training a year

7 ARMY ROTC- SMP/GRFD Guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty: 2 year Scholarship Dedicated-GRFD: 3 year Scholarship Minuteman Scholarship Program: 4 year Scholarship Nomination Letter is required w/application

8 ARMY ROTC-Lateral Entry Available to College Sophomores, requires 2 years left in their degree Cadet progression is Basic Camp, MSIII (Junior), Advanced Camp, MSIV (Senior), Commissioning to 2LT Not eligible for scholarships but may receive $5,000 in completion of Basic Camp.

9 ARMY ROTC-Ed Delay The Education Delay Program allows senior year cadets (MS IV) to continue their education in order to pursue the following Army Branches: Chaplain Dental Corps Judge Advocate General's Corps Medical Corp Medical Service Corp Medical Specialist Corp Veterinary Corp

10 ARMY ROTC- Basic Camp Basic Camp is a 31-day training that provides the critical thinking skills necessary to succeed in ROTC, and, ultimately, the Army.

11 ARMY ROTC-Advanced Camp Advanced Camp is a 31-day training event that is designed to assess a Cadet s ability to demonstrate proficiency in basic officer leadership tasks. Evaluated, mentally and physically, on their ability to lead at the Squad and Platoon levels

12 ARMY ROTC- CAIT Cadet Advanced Individual Training (MSIs-IIIs) Airborne Air Assault SF Combat Diver Qualification Mountain/Northern Warfare Sapper Jungle Warfare Training West Point s Cadet Field Training

13 ARMY ROTC- CULP Cultural Understanding & Language Proficiency(Contracted MSIs-IIIs) Cadets sent across the world to assist in military-to-military training, humanitarian aid and U.S. embassy missions Small teams of 10 cadets with mission team lead immerse in cultural familiarization Currently supported in 26 different countries

14 ARMY ROTC-Project GO Project Global Officer is a Department of Defense initiative aimed at improving the language skills, regional expertise, and intercultural communication skills of future military officers Current Program offers 15 countries around the world.

15 ARMY ROTC- CTLT/DCLT Cadet Troop Leading Training (MSIIIs) Allows Cadets to serve and shadow in active duty Army units as Platoon Leaders 20+ Installations Around the World Across all Branches within the Army (Exc. CY) Drill Cadet Leader Training (MSIIIs) Where Cadets apply leadership skills to interact with highly skilled and experienced NCOs and Drill Sergeants. Located at 1 of 4 Army Basic Combat Training Installations
