2 Activity Report: During the month of February the Brown Deer Police Department responded to 864 calls for service, issued 178 traffic citations, 99 parking citations and made 61 non-traffic related arrests/citations. Overall activity level was significantly lower when compared with the prior year. Citations & Arrests Traffic: 178 Non-Traffic: 61 Speed Related 38 Weapon Related Traffic Signs & Signals 19 Battery 2 Driver License Violations 41 Burglary Vehicle Registration 28 Disorderly Conduct 12 OMVWI/PAC 2 Obstructing/Resisting 1 Insurance 26 Drug Related 5 Seat Belts 7 Theft All Others 17 Retail Theft 18 Robbery Truancy All Others 23 Chief s Report The Department made a conditional offer of employment to Craig Wolc for the position of police officer. Craig resides in Beaver Dam and is a graduate of Saint Cloud State University. Craig is currently employed by Dodge Correctional Institute and has an anticipated start date in April. CSO Benway continues with his code enforcement duties. This month he identified 18 abandoned vehicles and investigated another five code violations. Code Enforcement has been added to the Allocation of Services graph on page 5 of this report. Village Administrator Michael Hall and I met with the School Board to discuss items of mutual interest including the School Liaison Officer position. We agreed to keep lines of communications open and explore areas of collaboration. Page 2
