3 SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS Sgt. Hiram Saunders BARTOW MIDDLE SCHOOL: Officer Quinn arrested seven (7) Students for Disruption of School, one () for Battery on a School Board Employee, and One () for Possession of Cannabis. A total of () Baker Acts at BMS. LT. GARY MCLIN PATROL DIVISION COMMUNITY EVENTS: Assisted with the set up for the Annual Bloomin' Arts Festival held March 7-8. Coordinated with other City Departments in setting up the Blarney Triathlon held on Sat. March. Assisted City Departments with set up for the Annual "Celebrate Jesus Parade" held March 8. Coordinated with planning of the Saint Patrick's Day Parade, The Police Reserve Unit assisted with Traffic Control and PSA Cowart assisted with the parade as well. Assisted with coordinating Town Hall Meeting at Polk State College at Clear Springs Technology Center where Congressman Ross gave an address. DETECTIVE BUREAU Detective Sgt. Eric Sherouse NEW EMPLOYEES: Former K-9 Officer Tommy Stokes has joined the Detective Bureau in March. Detective Stokes is assigned to General Crimes and responsible for criminal activity in Zones two () and three (3). EDUCATION ACHIEVEMENTS: Det. Tommy Stokes is currently completing the Investigations Training Program. Detectives completed monthly Police Law Institute and Police One Academy Training. In addition, they completed Annual Re- Training for Use of Force and Taser Certification SIGNIFICANT CASES/ARRESTS: Obtained an Arrest Warrant for Janel Davidson, she was arrested for Grand Theft, and Criminal Use of Personal ID. BARTOW HIGH SCHOOL: Officer Rhoden arrested one () student for Possession Cannabis, one () for three counts of Possession of Weapon on School Grounds Transported the Polk County Bike Rodeo trailer to Floral Avenue Elementary School for a Bike Event. OTHER: Patrol Officers participated in the National CLICK-IT OR TICKET Campaign March, 5 to March, 5. Attended the Monthly Polk County Community Traffic Safety Team Meeting. Conducted Firearms Qualifications for the Assistant State Attorneys and the State Attorney's Investigators. Attended the Bartow Reserve Unit Quarterly Meeting. Attended the Tampa Bay Regional Domestic Security Task Force Biannual Meeting. Theodore Mosley-Dealing in Stolen Property and Grand Theft Caleb DeLeon-Burglary of Dwelling, Dealing in Stolen Property, and Grand Theft. Robert Haas-Sexual Officer Violation, Failure to Report and Sexual Offender Violation for Failure to Report Internet Identifier. Charnard Brown-Forgery, Uttering Forged Instrument, and Sexual Offender Violation Failure to Rolan ReportDixon-Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon by Convicted Felon and Carrying a Concealed Firearm. Hewitt Grant-Perjury and Providing False Information to Law Enforcement, Relative to Grant's Fraudulent Reporting of his vehicle as stolen. Scott Engle-Burglary to a Dwelling and Theft Joshua Deus-Burglary OTHER: Detectives are currently assigned 3 active cases/investigations.
4 COMMUNITY SERVICES TEAM (C.S.T.) Sgt. Bryan Dorman EDUCATION ACHIEVEMENTS: C.S.T. Members completed Police One and Police Law Training, as well as attended mandatory Use of Force and Taser, and Workplace Violence COMMUNITY SERVICE / EVENTS: C.S.T. participated in the National Click-It or Ticket Campaign, during which 6 citations were written. There were two () arrests made in reference to DWLSR and a Warrant. Participated in an Open Community Forum held at Carver Recreation Center with moderator Steve Mitchell on March. Assisted with traffic control during the Annual Blarney Triathlon held March. Attended monthly E.P.A.C. Meeting at Carver Rec. Center March. Attended the Leland Family Ministries Advisory Board Meeting. Attended a special E.P.A.C. Summit planning meeting on March 3. COMMUNITY SERVICE / TRAFFIC / PATROL ACTIVITES: C.S.T. focused enforcement and patrol activities in Zone One () due to last month's rise in burglaries in that area. Placed the Traffic Trailer in the Zone One () area of Maple Ave due to it's closure. Conducted Speed Analysis on Shady Lane and Georgia St. in reference to citizens' complaints of excessive speed in those locations. These analyses were conducted using the RU Systems Speed Trailer. Provided Security Details to City Hall during the City Commission Meetings. CURRENT ACTIVITIES: The C.S.T. is currently working several citizens' complaints in reference to traffic issues in a variety of locations. The RU System is being used to Analyze current traffic trends. C.S.T. will continue to work flexible shifts to increase visibility to deter burglaries and other criminal offenses and assist Patrol when necessary to ensure adequate police coverage in the city.
