Bruce Bigler American Legion Post 1776 SAL Road Less Traveled As Mother Nature still does not want to end its PMS mood, and let winter be a bye gone thought, we need to pull our skirts, get our panties out of a bunch and enjoy riding. Maybe it s time we let her know, we cannot be held back. It is only a matter of time before the sun is beaming down on us as we are flying down the road on our bikes with our friends. Give a Friend a hug and a Smile, all will be better soon. Mark your Calendars for July 20th, 2013 for this year s 1776 American Legion Riders Annual Fallen Heroes Memorial Ride. It is going to be a blast. Remember "A veteran is someone who, at one point in his/her life, wrote a blank check made payable to The United States of America for amount of up to and including my life. That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." Support us on Facebook by going to the 1776 American Legion Riders Annual Fallen Heroes Memorial Ride page. Leave a comment and commit to attend, even if you do not ride as there will be a silent auction and other activities. Check Out the 1776 Legion Riders New Website!! 3 Gambling Updates Post 1776 Hello again Fellow Legionnaires and Legion Family, hope this finds you all in the best of Health and Spirits. Here in Gambling as I tell the girls Sell, Sell, Sell. Bar Bingo did well adding about $ to the check book. May 22nd will be our last Session until September 18th where we will start right off from where we left off. Yes, it s a great revenue maker, but the crowd is slowly dwindling as summer and its activities take precedence. The Wednesday night people need a break and this is a good time. BARGO will take its place so we are hoping that this too takes off, but only time will tell. This is not a part of our Gambling Operation but will be run by the Ladies Auxiliary. This month saw some greater than usual expenses. Help to the Post Home $20, to help with a Post Home Lighting Upgrade and some help in getting our kitchen up to standard. The 4th of July (as the City of Apple Valley calls it FREEDOM DAYS) we gave $ for our usual donation, ISD 196 $ for the Rocket Team that went to Nationals for their competition finals. Rounding it off, Scouting and the Food Shelf each received a $ check. The elections were held at the May General Membership meeting. As I write this, the meeting hasn t been held but the postings will be made by the Post Adjutant or another Officer. Happy, or not Happy; If you didn t attend and vote, let there not be one single complaint from anyone. Till next month, yours in Comradeship! Marv Jarvis Gambling Manager Post 1776 Newsletter 3
