1 PRESS RELEASE Christopher Protsman Chief of Police Released: March 5, 2018 POLICE BLOTTER Monday, February 26, An officer conducted a stop on Dorothy at Regent after identifying the driver as a wanted subject. Another officer responded to assist and Precious N. Carmichael (B/F/23) was taken into custody for a warrant through Huber Heights for FTA / original charge No OL. The warrant was confirmed and she was transported to KPD Jail without incident An officer stopped a vehicle in the lot of Frisch s on Wilmington for multiple moving violations. During the traffic stop, the male in the back seat was making furtive movements. Upon removing the male from the vehicle, the officer located 48 individually wrapped packages of marijuana stuffed under the seat. During an interview Samual L. Pate, b/m 44, admitted to selling the marijuana for $5 a bag. Pate was charged with trafficking marijuana and tampering with evidence Officers stopped a vehicle in the lot of Frisch s for equipment violations. K9 Fuse was deployed and alerted on the vehicle. As a result of that search the officers located methamphetamine, pills, and drug paraphernalia. Angela M. Kerns, w/f 39, was charged with felony drugs possession and arrested Officers were dispatched to 3535 Southern Blvd, Kettering Hospital, for a trespassing complaint. Upon arrival, they found Jamahl K. Stokes (B/M/33) with two hospital security officers. Stokes had been treated and released but then refused to leave the property. He was given multiple opportunities to leave which he refused. He was arrested for Criminal Trespass An officer turned on a vehicle for an equipment violation. The driver quickly parked the vehicle at a closed business 3343 E. Stroop Rd and exited quickly.

2 The officer quickly apprehended Casey J. Gillespie (W/M/27). And found a syringe in his pants pocket. Further investigation revealed the vehicle was an entered stolen out of Harrison Township and the license plates were stolen from Kettering. Gilliespie was arrested for Receiving Stolen Property (F4) Theft (F5) Possession of drug abuse instruments (M1) and DUS Officers were dispatched to 1222 Imperial for a suspicious person. Upon arrival, they found Michael H. Bullock (W/M/32) who was highly intoxicated and wet after he had fallen in a creek. He was issued a summons for Public Intoxication and released to Xenia PD on an outstanding FTA warrant on an original charge of disorderly conduct Eric D. Henkel (W/M/21) summons Possession of Marijuana Tuesday, February 27, Officers were dispatched to 1250 W. Dorothy on a suspicious man sleeping outside the building. Upon their arrival, they located Samuel C. Kimmel, (W/M/43), who had an active warrant for his arrest from Moraine PD. A Moraine officer arrived on scene, and Kimmel was TOT that officer An officer issued a summons to Gary D. Harris (B/M/36) for Possession of Marijuana An officer completed a warrant by fax to the MCSO Jail for Eric K. Lankford (W/M/27). Lankford had an active warrant through Kettering for Theft. The officer completed a supplemental and Lankford was removed from LEADS An officer completed a warrant by fax to the MCSO Jail for Elizabeth A. Hess (W/F/25). Hess had an active warrant through Kettering for Theft. The officer completed a supplemental and Hess was removed from LEADS Officers were dispatched to an odor of marijuana call at 538 Lamont Apt. 2. They located Noah D. Bingham (W/M/30) who was in possession of marijuana that was turned over to officers. Bingham was issued a summons for marijuana possession Officers stopped a vehicle at Dogwood and Schrub for a traffic violation. When they began to approach, the vehicle fled and a pursuit was initiated, but when the vehicle ran the red light at Southern they terminated the pursuit. Other officers then observed the suspect sitting at the red light at W. Dorothy and Southern and attempted to box it in. The suspect pulled away from the light driving toward

3 their vehicle, and intentionally struck it and drove off. They initiated a pursuit and the vehicle continued to flee, and they lost contact. Another officer was able to continue the pursuit, and was joined by an officer who completed a PIT maneuver. Following a foot chase, the suspect was taken into custody. James Alexander Price II (W/M/24) was arrested for Felonious Assault on an officer with a deadly weapon X2 (F1), Failure to Comply (F3), Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Official Business, Drug Possession, OVI, Open Container, DUS and traffic offenses Miranda L. Martin (W/F/24) summons Possession of Marijuana John T. Ryan (W/M/52) summons for Disorderly Conduct Wednesday, February 28, An officer made a traffic stop in the 2300 block on Wilmington for a moving violation. During the stop he learned that Zackery K. Kesting, w/m 41, had a warrant through MCSO Officers responded to 2071 Richfield on the report of a family problem. Upon their arrival, they located Anjael Lockard (W/F/34). Lockard was yelling and screaming and causing a disturbance at the apartment complex. She was arrested for Disorderly Conduct. She was transported to the KPD Jail without incident Officers responded to 1436 Barton on the report of an unruly juvenile. Upon their arrival, they learned that Kevin Macpherson (W/M/13) had kicked his mother. Macpherson was arrested for Domestic Violence and was transported to JDC Kimberly S. Gust (W/F/48) summons for Disorderly Conduct and Marijuana 0019 Crews were dispatched to 2021 Malcom Drive on a family problem. The male victim claimed his wife, Vanessa A. Espy (W/F/40) beat him up and gave him a bloody nose. Espy admitted to hitting the victim in the face when he returned home eight hours late with her vehicle. Espy was arrested for domestic violence and transported to the Kettering Jail without incident Officers responded to Andrew at Brookbank for a reported OVI driver. The officer conducted a traffic stop at that location and spoke with Kelley A. Peters (W/M/40). Peters was noticeably intoxicated. He later refused to submit to SFST s and was arrested for OVI. He later refused a test of his breath

4 0225 Crews responded to BP Gas at 2361 S. Smithville Rd. for an Aggravated Robbery. 4 B/M suspects had entered the store with handguns and assaulted and robbed the clerk. They fled on foot EB on Dutchess Ave. K9 Tina from Riverside PD arrived and tracked to 2000 block of Ashmore Ave Officers responded to the Speedway at 2920 Shroyer Rd on report of a person passed out in their vehicle. Upon arrival, they observed a male in the trunk of his car with his legs hanging out. Upon making contact they found he was very intoxicated. Eric L. Moore (B/M/32) was arrested for Disorderly Conduct (PI), and a search of his vehicle also revealed suspected cocaine. Moore was transported to KPD jail, and was also charged with Drug Possession Angael M. Lockard (W/F/34) summons for Obstructing Official Business Thursday, March 1, An officer checked the LEADS files, and found an active warrant for Nathan W. Dotson, (W/M/35), from the Miami County SO for Felonious Assault. Other officers arrived to assist. Dotson was located at his residence, 1 Wyngate, and arrested Officers were dispatched to 1504 Moler, Apt. B, on the report of a burglary. Investigation revealed Anthony L. Flint, W/M/29, had stolen several items from the bedroom of one of the residents. Flint had walked to his vehicle with a backpack prior to KPD arrival and refused consent to search. The vehicle was towed to the VMC pending a search warrant request. A detective assisted in obtaining a search warrant which will be executed on 3/2/2018. Flint was arrested for theft and possession of drugs (felony) An officer stopped a vehicle on Woodman at Forrer for multiple moving violations. Upon making contact with the driver he found that he had been drinking. Anthony W. Workman, w/m 24, failed the SFSTs and was arrested for OVI. Workman tested.120 on the Intoxilyzer. Workman was also cited for open container An officer stopped a vehicle for speed and lane violations in the lot of the BP at 2361 Smithville Rd. The driver got out of the vehicle and started to walk away immediately upon stopping, and was ordered back to the car. Additional officers responded to assist. In speaking with the driver and passenger it was determined both had significant drug histories, and a K9 was requested. A free air sniff produced a hit on the passenger door, and a search was conducted of the passenger Michael P. Whittington (W/M/42) revealing a bag of white powder. A search of the vehicle revealed drug paraphernalia and pills. Hittington

5 was arrested for drug possession and transported to KPD jail. The driver Heather D. Fent (W/F/35) was issued a summons for paraphernalia Friday, March 2, An officer was dispatched on a parking complaint at 2609 Galewood. A LEADS check showed the resident, Andrew M. Salyers, W/M/39, had an entered protection order and the protected person was in the yard with him. Another officer was dispatched to assist. The protection order was confirmed by MCSO and Salyers was arrested Officers were dispatched to Wendy s, 4003 Wilmington Pike, on the report of an intoxicated subject. Robert W. Kaufmann, W/M/53, was found to be intoxicated and unable to care for himself. Kaufmann was arrested for disorderly conduct/public intoxication and transported to the KPD Jail Officers were dispatched to 2128 Culver on the report of family trouble. Investigation revealed Margaret A. Earnest, W/F/62, had struck her adult daughter several times. Earnest was arrested for domestic violence and transported to the KPD Jail Officers were dispatched to KMH, 3535 Southern Blvd., on the report of a subject refusing to leave the premises. Jamahl K. Stokes, B/M/33, had been previously trespassed and was arrested for criminal trespass. This was the third arrest of Stokes at KMH for criminal trespass An officer conducted a traffic stop at Woodman and Rainbow. The driver, Richard R. Johnson III, W/M/27, identified himself with a driver s license that was not him. After Johnson exited the vehicle he was found to have an Ohio ID card that was his and it was learned he had an MCSO warrant for drug possession. Johnson was arrested for falsification and the confirmed warrant. Johnson was also cited for no operator s license and driving under suspension (five open suspensions). Johnson was transported to the KPD Jail Scott T. Kichline, W/M/56, was issued a summons for allowing cats to run at large

6 Saturday, March 3, An officer was dispatched to 1901 W. Stroop to meet with a Miami Twp. Officer who had detained Nicholas J. Cochran, (W/M/34), on a Kettering Municipal Courts warrant. Cochran was transported to the Kettering PD Jail An officer was dispatched to Dominos, Shroyer to meet with a Dayton PD Officer, who had detained Kansas R. Hickman, (W/M/23), on a Kettering Municipal Courts warrant. Hickman was transported to the Kettering PD Jail An Officer was sent to the Shell station in Huber Heights to meet with OSP on a warrant detail. Upon his arrival he took custody of Raekwon Hall, B/M/19, on our warrant An officer was sent to 500 Canterbury on a welfare check due to family members being unable to reach the resident for approximately three weeks. Upon his arrival he found newspapers stacked in front and the house secure. The next of kin gave permission to force entry and the resident, Gerald B. Hollins, W/M/52, was found deceased in the upstairs bedroom. Based on the state of the body it is believed he had been dead for several weeks. The body was taken by the coroner s office. The detective section was contacted but did not respond due to no signs of foul play Crews were dispatched to the 3300 block of Carrier for an unknown subject in the back yard. The intoxicated male, William C. Koogler (W/M/24) was located after hiding in the tree line between Carrier and Ackerman. He was too intoxicated to care for himself and claimed he was trying to get home on Milford. Koogler was arrested for disorderly conduct (public intoxication) and transported to the Kettering Jail Ryan A. Moore (W/M/26 was issued a summons for possession of a drug instrument and drug paraphernalia Sunday, March 4, Officers were dispatched to Meijer on a theft that had just occurred. Gary Smith, (W/M/58) was contacted on Hempstead Stn., Smith was issued a summons for theft and trespassed off the premises. Smith had stolen a six pack of beer

7 2219 An officer conducted a traffic stop at Culver and Patterson. The passenger, Danny Roush Jr, W/M/23, was found to have an entered warrant from Huber Heights. Another officer arrived to assist. The warrant was confirmed and Roush was transported to the KPD Jail An officer conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation. Upon speaking to the driver, he learned of an active Huber Heights PD warrant. Danny L. Roush Jr (W/M/23) was arrested for the warrant and transported without incident An officer conducted a traffic stop on E. Dorothy for an equipment violation. Upon speaking to the driver, Bronson A. Allen (W/M/24), It was determined that Allen had an active indictment warrant out of Montgomery County Common Pleas for Aggravated Possession of Drugs. He was arrested without incident An officer conducted a traffic stop for a registration violation. Upon speaking to a passenger, Qitwan A. Jackson (B/M/22), it was determined Jackson had an active warrant out of Moraine PD for FTC on an original charge of No OL Officers were dispatched to the area of Lincoln Park for an intoxicated male. Upon arrival, he located Austin M. Simmons (W/M/18) walking. He showed significant signs of impairment and was arrested for Public Intoxication #####
