A SMP meeting was held on 09 Jan 2019 at Paige Field House. HM1 Loaiza called the meeting to order at List of those in attendance is provided on the sign in sheet (attachment 1). 2. Mr.Eddie Hadley- SMP Coordinator Last month s minutes can be found at under the recreation / SMP tab. 3. SgtMaj Meza SgtMaj MCIWest-MCB CamPen Welcome everyone to the first meeting of Mr. Michael Rumbaua, Bachelor Housing Manager Bachelor Housing - takes care of BAH requests, aid in inspections, and handles "no cost billeting" which refers to placing small units in BEQ. Bachelors Housing has 3 main purposes, which are: 1. BAH packages Sergeants and Corporals turn in a lot of BAH packages. Please be aware, the entire base must be at 95% or higher occupancy to allow Sergeants and Corporals to turn in and accept BAH packages. The base is currently at 65% occupancy. 2. No Cost Billing Units training in area on base are housing by Bachelor Housing. 3. Improve quality of life of the marines in the barracks There is currently a shortage of linens on base. S4 and base properly should be purchasing new linen. If you are need of furniture or linen, there are many spares from barracks being torn down contact Jay (760) Thieves when Marines/Sailors leave on doors saying they will be on leave for a duration of time, this is tipping off other people that you will not be in your room; which leads to people stealing items out of room. If you must leave this information, please leave it INSIDE of your room. 5. Mr. Mark Buehman, Hard Corps Race Series February 9 - Tails and Trails 4K Dog Walk - 9:00 am 12:00 pm. FREE EVENT at Lake O Neill. All leashed and friendly dogs are welcome. Registration starts at 9am, walk starts at 10am. March 16 - Shamrock Stampede 10 AM Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Air Station. 10K, 5K, or 1K kids run on the air station run way. This race is for Authorized Base Patrons only are allowed to participate. The general public, contractors and other non-base patrons with DBIDS cards are not eligible to race 5. Mr. Matt Lijewski, Frontwave Credit Union Previously known as Pacific Credit Union, provides financial education seminars to its military members. These seminars will foster effective financial management skills and enhance quality of life.

2 5. Mr. Eddie Bolanos, Athletics If you want to reserve fields (soccer field, football field, softball field) contact athletics. If you want to reserve the parade deck, that is MCI-West, not athletics. VOLUNTEERS COACHES NEEDED for Spring Basketball, Cheerleading and Soccer. 115 hours towards LOA. Background check required. Process takes 1 month to get approved. For more info, call Youth Sports at (760) Jan 23 - Long Distance Casting Competition 11 Area Soccer Deck. Registration This is an individual event. Poles will be available, you may bring your own pole/reel. Jan 30 Racquetball Tournament Paige Field House. Registration This tournament is an individual competition and registration is limited to one division sign up. Racquetball equipment is provided for all competitors. Feb 06 5-On-5 Tug of War Challenge 43 Area Football Field. Registration Teams consist of 5 people. Teams may be Co-ed. See the new 2019 CG s Cup Schedule at mccscp.com/athletics Our top three 2018 division winners. You can t win if you don t play! DIV 1 - $3,000 DIV 2 - $2,500 DIV 3 - $2, bodies or 10 teams for max participation! 5. Mr. Patrick Nalty & Mr. Rob Hightower, Career Readiness Free services available, including: resume assistance, career path counseling, and insider information on job positions and career paths that do not require higher education. Please see agenda and fliers for upcoming events. 5. Mr. Joe Artino, Fitness HIIT Course - Semper Fit HQMC Training Course focusing on the High Intensity Tactical Training (HITT) Program. This course includes hands-on training for TRX suspension training, Olympic lifting, kettlebells, dynamic movements and more. This is a five-day course from each day. A HITT Certificate is given to all participants upon completing the course. Get more info at: 6. Mrs. Heather Williams & Leanne Miyasaki, Human Performance Health Promotions will soon be known as Human Performance and includes services such as: fitness measurements, Resting Metabolic Rate, assistance for BCP Marines, body fat measurements, Vo2 Max testing, etc. Jan 9 th Nutrition 101 Class Nutrition and Fitness BCP, 8 hour course, must register. A FREE 1 hour class to help weight loss and learn to eat healthy. This is a great class if you need to lose weight, you re on the BCP program or just want to learn how to eat healthy. Bldg /11 Iron Mountain Hike - This trip is only $5.00 per person, pre-registration is required to plan for food. Group departs Semper Fit HQ, Bldg at Registration currently open & ends Jan 8th or until full. 02/02 Super Cross Trip $20.00 per person includes transportation & entry into Supercross. Departure from Semper Fit HQ, Bldg at Registration opens Jan 8th & ends Jan 30th or until full. 02/09 Big Bear Trip $80.00 includes transportation, lift ticket, gear rental, & a two-hour optional lesson. Participants may choose to ski or snowboard. Departure from Semper Fit HQ, Bldg at Registration opens Jan 11th & ends Feb6th or until full. Please make sure to complete all forms at registration. 02/15-18 San Francisco Trip - $160 per person includes transportation & three night stay in downtown San Francisco. FREE EVENT at Lake O Neill. This is a free event for all base patrons, all ages are welcome. All leashed and friendly dogs are welcome. Registration starts at 9am, walk starts at 10am. The luck of the Irish has landed at Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton! Find your pot of gold on St. Patrick s Day with a 10K, 5K, or 1K kids run on the air station run way. This event will feature kid activities, vehicle displays, finisher medals, Shamrock Stampede t-shirts, music and more. This race is for Authorized Base Patrons only are allowed to participate. An active duty ID card, dependent ID card, retiree ID card, or a CAC card must be presented when registering on race morning. The general public, contractors and other non-base patrons with DBIDS cards are not eligible to race

Poles will be available, you may bring your own pole/reel: 20 pound minimum monofilament line required on reels, pole must have 3 eyes and cannot be longer than 10ft. A 1oz. torpedo sinker will be used in competition. Conventional and spinning reels approved and will compete in respective division. Jan 30 Racquetball Tournament Paige Field House. Registration Two Categories: Open Division/ Novice Division. This tournament is an individual competition and registration is limited to one division sign up. Racquetball equipment is provided for all competitors (goggles, racquet and ball). Feb 05 5-On-5 Tug of War Challenge 43 Area Football Field. Registration Teams consist of 5 people. 15 Newsletter January 2019 Advanced registration is required for all SMP trips, events & volunteer opportunities. Program events are open only to single Marine and Sailors stationed on Camp Pendleton. Participants who volunteer must register in advance with SMP HQ in order to receive a letter of appreciation. Volunteers must provide their own transportation except for PE fitness Challenge. A signed command permission slip is required for all SMP activities. All activities depart from Semper Fit Headquarters Bldg Unless otherwise stated and require that participants utilize the provided transportation. Bravos are the requested uniform for these events. Max of 6-10 volunteers needed for each opportunity. Each event begins at /08 - Rancho Vista Retirement Home 01/09 - Pacific Place Retirement Home 01/30 - Fairwinds Retirement Home 01/09 & 01/ Base Stables Volunteer Day Camp Pendleton Stables, Bldg Participants will help clean & groom horses, clean stalls, & help with general maintenance at the stables. Uniform of the day is civilian attire. Closed toed shoes are required. A maximum of 10 participants are needed for this opportunity. Participants must sign up prior to the event. Bring water! 01/25 & 02/22 PE Fitness Challenge - Volunteers will host an all-day fitness challenge at an on-base school. All volunteers must meet at Semper Fit Headquarters at Please eat breakfast before you arrive. Dress attire is the Marine Corps Running Suit with green PT shorts and plain skivvy shirt underneath.
