A SMP meeting was held on 09 January 2019 at MCAS Camp Pendleton s Hall of Heroes. List of those in attendance is provided on the sign in sheet (attachment 1). 2. SgtMaj MCAS CamPen As SMP reps you are expected to obtain information from these meetings, return to your commands and ensure that this information is being presented to your single Marines/Sailors. It is also your responsibility to solicit ideas from your Marines/Sailors, which will enable us to enhance the SMP program. Having an idea as to what is or is not working will go a long way in improving their quality of life where they live, work and play. 3. Mr.David Stocks- 23/24 Area Assist Logistics Officer- Issues with hot water bring off in Barracks 24015: This has been addressed, but couldn t duplicate the problem to fix it. Looking into narrowing down the rooms that are affected by this. Send an to Stocks and Sgt Frazier with room numbers. Issues with 2415; I know showers and plates are rotting. Waiting on funding to fix this. Marines FAP d out to MCAS areas such as Fitness Centers and SMPs cannot be pulled to other entities (MOS duties, rifle range, pistol, etc) until covered and speaking with Mr.Stocks. Quality of Life Issues: Pick up trash in your areas and around barracks. BBQ Grills at 99 barracks handled by FMD. There are currently no funds to fix/repair gym equipment in 24 Area Gym. Basketball lights on again, but at odd hours as a Marine has somehow gotten into the security system timer and changed it/broken it. 4. Mr.Michael Woodbury- MCX Manager- Not in Attendance 5. This is a free event for all base patrons, all ages are welcome. All leashed and friendly dogs are welcome. Registration starts at 9am, walk starts at 10am. This race is for Authorized Base Patrons only are allowed to participate. An active duty ID card, dependent ID card, retiree ID card, or a CAC card must be presented when registering on race morning. The general public, contractors and other non-base patrons with DBIDS cards are not eligible to race. 12. Faith Frey Youth Sports VOLUNTEERS COACHES NEEDED for Spring Basketball, Cheerleading and Soccer. 115 hours towards LOA. Background check required. Process takes 1 month to get approved. For more info, call Youth Sports at (760) Jan 23 - Long Distance Casting Competition 11 Area Soccer Deck. Registration This is an individual event. Poles will be available, you may bring your own pole/reel: 20 pound minimum monofilament line required on reels, pole must have 3 eyes and cannot be longer than 10ft. A 1oz. torpedo sinker will be used in competition. Conventional and spinning reels approved and will compete in respective division. Jan 30 Racquetball Tournament Paige Field House. Registration Two Categories: Open Division/ Novice Division. This tournament is an individual competition and registration is limited to one division sign up. Racquetball equipment is provided for all competitors (goggles, racquet and ball). Feb 06-5-On-5 Tug of War Challenge 43 Area Football Field. Registration Teams consist of 5 people. Teams may be Co-ed. Outfit of the day: Boots, Utilities, and Gloves. (Gloves will be provided if needed) 13. Lunch will be provided. 40 volunteers needed. 15. 11 Newsletter January 2019 Advanced registration is required for all SMP trips, events & volunteer opportunities. Program events are open only to single Marine and Sailors stationed on Camp Pendleton. Participants who volunteer must register in advance with SMP HQ in order to receive a letter of appreciation. Volunteers must provide their own transportation except for PE fitness Challenge. A signed command permission slip is required for all SMP activities. All activities depart from Semper Fit Headquarters Bldg Unless otherwise stated and require that participants utilize the provided transportation.
