2 Our History CMIA was originally founded in 1948 to further the interests of Canadian military intelligence after WWII In the late 1960s when the Intelligence and Security Branches amalgamated, CMIA folded into the Canadian Intelligence Security Association (CISA) and then was later renamed the Canadian Intelligence Military Police Association (CIMPA) On 29 October 1982 when the Intelligence Branch became its own entity, the CF Intelligence Branch Association (CFIBA) was established In 2011 CIMPA dissolved and Intelligence Branch members joined the CFIBA In Jan 2013 the CFIBA changed its name to CMIA Jul 2016 CMIA became a Not for Profit Incorporated entity CMIA CISA CIMPA s CFIBA CMIA
