10 TRAINING AND INFORMATION EDUCATION CAMPAIGNS Prior to disasters, the government has been conducting regular training and information education campaigns for the communities. 11 EARLY WARNING Forecasts and warnings about TY HAGUPIT were disseminated to various stakeholders using all possible means of communication.. PRE-DISASTER RISK ASSESSMENT ACTION PROGRAMS AND PROTOCOLS (PDRA-APP) Calculated Impact H x E x V C Where: H= hazard E= exposure V= vulnerability C= capacity PREPAREDNESS LEVEL IMPLEMENTATION OF ACTION PROGRAMS & PROTOCOLS PER AGENCY HAZARD SPECIFIC, AREA FOCUSED & TIME BOUND 10
12 PDRA-APP goes across the 4 thematic areas Using PDRA-APP, the national government developed benchmarks to better describe the impacts of Typhoon HAGUPIT to the localities. 11
13 PRE-EMPTIVE EVACUATION In response to the forecasts, warnings and the PDRA-APP, the local government units conducted pre-emptive evacuation and other mitigation activities. TOTAL EVACUEES 146,875 families or 716,639 persons photo credit: GMA Network PRE-POSITIONING The national and local government units prepositioned supplies, equipment and other resources in anticipation of the disaster operations for TY HAGUPIT. 12
14 TWINNING OCD adopted the twinning concept to help the Regional Offices that will probably be hit by the Typhoon and prevent the disruption of operations, SOCIAL MEDIA The use of social media was maximized to support the Response Cluster for information exchange and quick coordination 13
