4 LEDS GP Mission The LEDS Global Partnership is dedicated to advancing low emissions development through ongoing coordination, information exchange and cooperation among programs that support LEDS and country institutions that are developing LEDS. LEDS GP Objectives Identify and disseminate best practices and lessons to advance low emissions development Foster ongoing information exchange, coordination and collaboration Build awareness of and support for LEDS development and implementation globally

5 Evolution of the Partnership CIFF held an informal LEDS meeting in October 2010 in Brussels, Belgium Workshop was held on Low Emission Development Strategies Initiatives: Building a Global Dialogue in Washington, D.C., February 2-3, 2011 LEDS GP was created as a forum to advance discussion, coordination and knowledge of LEDS across countries and international programs LEDS GP Collaboration in Action Workshop held in London, U.K., March 21-23, 2012 and expanded portfolio of programs Partnership has grown quickly with distributed leadership, currently over 90 governmental and international institutions

16 Priority Needs and Opportunities What are common priority needs and opportunities for LEDS in the region? Capacity building Knowledge sharing Collaboration Which of these needs can be effectively addressed by the Asia Regional Platform? How can the platform track peer learning/ capacity building needs and opportunities going forward?

17 Partnership and Outreach How will the Asia Regional Platform grow and maintain active engagement of stakeholders? What countries, organizations, and networks should be invited to join the platform? How should the platform pursue outreach and new partnerships? Will the platform need to develop outreach materials?

18 Activity Types and Structures What types of activities will be the primary initial focus for the platform in addressing priority needs and opportunities for example: regional training programs (web based and in person) knowledge sharing and peer exchange forums and platforms regional activity inventories develop enhanced technical resources and tools matchmaking with regional and global programs to mobilize support to countries Which of these should be pursued first? Will a central organization lead these activities or will a distributed leadership approach be followed?

How can the Asia Regional Platform most effectively collaborate with these WGs? How can the LEDS GP Secretariat assist?

How will the platform track ongoing LEDS activities in the region? How will the platform monitor and share information on performance and success of activities? Sustainability
