1 CFMA Silicn Valley Chapter Schlarship Applicatin 2018 The Cnstructin Financial Management Assciatin Silicn Valley Chapter ( CFMA-SV ) is ffering fur schlarships t eligible students fr the academic year. CFMA-SV awards schlarships t assist students with the cst f their bks, classes, husing, tls and supplies needed t further their educatin. Schlarship Amunts: $10,000, $5,000, $3,000 and $2,000 ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: At the start f the Fall 2018 semester r quarter, students must be enrlled full-time in an accredited junir cllege, cllege r university; be interested in a finance r cnstructin related career OR be related t an emplyee f a CFMA-SV member cmpany; and reside r be enrlled in a cllege r university situated in an eligible cunty (Santa Clara, San Mate, Mnterey, Alameda, San Benit, r Santa Cruz). have maintained a cumulative 3.0 GPA fr the past tw years. Must agree t sign up as a student member f CFMA if determined t be a schlarship winner (n cst t student) CFMA-SV will cnsider the applicant s GPA, interest and wrk experience in cnstructin r finance, extracurricular activities, essay and narrative answers, and up t tw references r advisr evaluatins (ptinal). If yu wuld like a Wrd cpy f the annuncement, please cntact CFMA-SV. 2. Applicant must submit an fficial schl transcript, sealed if by mail, r ed directly frm the schl. 3. Applicant must submit an essay ( wrds, typed duble-spaced) detailing his/her interest(s) in the cnstructin r finance industry, gals, and bjectives. CFMA-SV member relatives may discuss their interest in any industry. Essay shuld include relative academic, wrk, and vlunteer experience. 4. Applicant may submit up t tw letters f recmmendatin r advisr evaluatins, limited t ne page each. 5. The fully cmpleted applicatin, transcript, essay, and recmmendatin/evaluatin letters must be received by CFMA-SV n later than May 1, Infrmatin that is nt cmplete will nt be cnsidered. OTHER REQUIREMENTS 6. Interviews f applicants may be requested. 7. Schlarship recipients will be annunced by apprximately May 31, Schlarship recipients will be asked t attend a regular meeting f CFMA membership, in July r August Schlarship recipients must submit a CFMA Student Membership Applicatin. Upn receipt f the schlarship applicatin, the student will be enrlled as a CFMA student member at n cst t the student. 10. Schlarship(s) will be disbursed t the winner(s) in August 2018 r as sn as verificatin f enrllment fr the Fall f 2018 is presented.
