1 JUDITH RESNIK SCHOLARSHIP 2017 APPLICATION INFO SHEET PURPOSE To benefit talented high school women graduates who are pursuing careers in science, engineering or mathematics, and are accepted in a baccalaureate undergraduate program. CRITERIA FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP 1. The applicant should be a high school senior enrolled in a public or private school in Summit, Stark, Portage, Wayne or Medina County. 2. The applicant must complete a formal application and submit all required materials which include: 2 letters of recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor, community member, and/or employer High school transcript SAT or ACT scores Mail the completed application and required materials to Women s Network on or before March 31, Applications must be postmarked by this date to be considered. ONLY COMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED. 3. The applicant should be accepted into an appropriate science, math, or engineering baccalaureate program at a four-year accredited school. The applicant must have a cumulative 3.00 or higher grade point average. * Please note that medical fields are excluded from eligibility. Nursing and pharmacy are excluded from eligibility. 4. Applications will be reviewed by the Women s Network Scholarship Committee, which may require a personal interview. 5. The scholarship award will be $1,000 per academic year, and is renewable for a total of four years (total amount possible per recipient - $4,000). The recipient will be contacted via with details on the renewal process. A cumulative 3.0 or higher grade point average is required for renewal. 6. Scholarship checks will be sent directly to the recipient s university in increments of $500 per semester and cover the period of July 1 to June 30. The funds may be applied only to tuition, general fees, laboratory fees and/or books. 7. Renewal of the scholarship each year is contingent upon the availability of funds. 1
