CHAVEZ APRIL 13, 2018 BY 3:00PM, UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED. NO EXCEPTIONS! As of April 9, 2018 Strong as Steele Scholarship (LRHS only) : Award: two- $1000 scholarships. If you have a minimum of 3.0 gpa, excellent behavior, good attendance (95% rate), and have participated in LRHS school activities, please see Dr. Chavez on how to apply for this scholarship. Information can also be found on the LRHS website. Due date is April 27 to Dr. Chavez. Rebekah Lodge Scholarship: Award: $500. For those attending 2 or 4 yr colleges or trade school. GPA will be considered, essay regarding future plans is required. Flyers available in front of Dr. Chavez door at LRHS or in the Counseling Office at GHS. Completed applications must be mailed in to address listed on flyer. Due April 27 Galt High School Alumni Association General Scholarship (GHS only): Award: $500-$1000. Application, essay, and community service, required. Applications available in the Counseling Office at GHS. Galt High School Athletic Boosters Association (GHS only): Award: four-$1000 scholarships for 2 males, 2 females. Must have lettered in a varsity sport (Cheer included) Graduating senior attending 2 or 4 yr

2 college/university or trade/vocational school, minimum 3.0 gpa word essay, What are your future goals after graduation? need cover page with: name, address, phone number, and sport in which you participated. DO NOT PUT YOUR NAME ON THE ESSAY ITSELF, ONLY COVER PAGE, list of community service and leadership. As of Mar 23, 2018 Galt Chamber of Commerce Scholarship (GHS and LRHS): Award: $500 Applicants will be evaluated on academic record, community service, personal interview, and writing skills. 500-word essay on future goals and aspirations in the field of Business. Due to Dr. Chavez by 2:00pm on April 13 As of Mar 22, 2018 Galt Rotary Scholarship (GHS and LRHS): Award: $ minimum gpa, application, personal statement, transcripts, and copy of SAT/ACT if you will be attending a 4-yr university. Applications due to Dr. Chavez May 4 Galt High School Alumni Association Scholarship (GHS students only): Award: $500-$1000. No minimum gpa, application, transcript and 500-word essay addressing why you feel you are deserving of the scholarship, include career plans, any challenges you have had to overcome. 3 As of Mar 9, 2018 Cal-Waste Recovery Systems: Two-$500 scholarships will be awarded: 1 to GHS, 1 LRHS for students pursuing a technical or vocational training at a vocational training school or community college. This is NOT for those intending general academic pursuits. Examples of applied/vocational programs: Heavy Machinery, Diesel Mech, Auto Technology, Electrical, other ag programs. Instructions are on the website and in the packets Susie Gaynes-Mitchell Scholarship: Award: tba. Must have a minimum 2.5 gpa, entering a 2-4 yr college or technical/trade school. Must write essay, have a letter of recommendation, and a list of community service and achievements. Due April 20, 2018 to address listed on application As of Mar 6, 2018 Senior Citizens Club of Galt: Award: Two-$500 scholarships, one for GHS, one for LRHS. Must write an essay regarding accomplishments, community service, future goals, and how they will give back to their communities after college graduation. Lodi-Woodbridge Rose Society Scholarship: Award: Three-$750 scholarships. 2.7 gpa, majoring in Horticulture, Agriculture, other Biology-related fields. Must be planning to attend a 2-or 4-yr college or trade school. Due April 1, 2018 to Dr. Chavez As of Feb 28, 2018 Valley Oaks Grange Hall: Award: $500. 4 Galt HS Alumni Scholarship for VAPA (Visual & Performing Arts) Students: Award: Three-$500 scholarships. GHS and LRHS students are eligible. Must have minimum of 2.0 and 2-yr involvement in VAPA at their high schools. Steve & Annah Ellinwood Community Scholarship: Award: $1500. Must have minimum 2.5 gpa, community involvement. Should have participated in FFA, 4-H, or Grange activities in high school, goal oreinted As of Jan 24, 2018 Cattle Women Scholarship: Must have at least a minimum 2.5 gpa. Will need to send in application to scholarship chairman no later than April 1, As of Jan 22, 2018 Eric Leeworthy Memorial Scholarship: Must have lettered in a varsity sport, have a minimum 3.0 gpa. As of Jan 9, 2018 St. Luke s Scholarship: For students interested in pursuing a degree in the medical/health field. 2-$500 scholarships: one to GHS, one to LRHS. St. Lukes offers this scholarship to students in an effort to give back to their community, describe what ways will you be able to give back to your community after receiving your degree. Ian Petersen Memorial Scholarship: Open to all students attending military or trade school. Award $500 each to a student from Galt High School, Liberty Ranch and Estrellita. No gpa minimum. 500-word essay required to address prompt: What are your plans for the future and what are the steps you will take to achieve your goals?
