1 College Scholarships The following scholarships are offered by specific colleges/universities. These scholarship applications are usually sent to our office each year. When applying to any college/university, it is a good practice to go ahead and apply for any scholarships and financial aid at the same time. However, no scholarships will be awarded until you have been accepted by the college/university. *************************************************************************************************** Alcorn and Taylor Cotton Scholarship (West Texas A&M University) Admitted to WTAMU in Canyon Applicant is a dependent of cotton growers, pickers, or gin employees Preference is given to a student who attends high school in a Texas county that is a member of Plain Cotton Growers, Inc. of Lubbock (Ochiltree County qualifies) Minimum GPA of 2.5 U.S. citizen Must submit a completed Student Aid Report (SAR) from FAFSA Website: (on-line application only) Amarillo College Foundation Scholarships (Amarillo College) Must attend Amarillo College See website for particular requirements for each scholarship Based on merit, achievement, financial need, and academic potential Specific scholarships may require minimum grade point averages, minimum number of college hours, participation in school activities and/or community service, and other qualifications as specified by donors Website: Carr Academic Scholarship (Angelo State University) Amount: Ranges from $1,500 to $6,000 Must attend Angelo State University Rank in the top 45% of the graduating class GPA of 90 or above
