Essay will need to be between words. Letter of Academic Reference: Please submit two Letters of Academic References with your application. Southeastern Louisiana Home Builders Association s Scholarship Committee will recommend to Southeastern Louisiana Home Builders Association Board of Directors which student(s) are eligible for the scholarship but it is the decision of the Board of Directors who will receive the scholarship. Southeastern Louisiana Home Builders Association Technical/Vocational Scholarship Fund GUIDELINES: Funds for scholarships are derived from the Southeastern Louisiana Home Builders Association

4 Southeastern Louisiana Home Builders Association Technical/Vocational Scholarship Fund GUIDELINES: Funds for scholarships are derived from the Southeastern Louisiana Home Builders Association sponsored fundraisers. (SLHBA Annual Golf Tournament) The Scholarship Committee will meet to determine fund reserves for award distribution. Award amounts are based on fundraiser proceeds and cannot be determined in advance of the tournaments. The number of scholarships and awarded value/s will be determined annually by the scholarship committee. The Scholarship Committee will consist of 4 members, 2 associates, and 2 builder members (including the president of the association). The Executive Officer of the association will also sit on the committee. The Scholarship Committee will recommend to the Southeastern Louisiana Home Builders Association Board of Directors which applicant(s) are eligible for the scholarship but it is the decision of the Board of Directors who will receive the scholarship(s). Technical/Vocational Scholarships will only be awarded to applicants that are or will be attending a Technical/Vocational School or Community College in the State of Louisiana in a Building Industry Related Curriculum. Scholarship recipient should be currently residing in the Parishes of our Association: Assumption, Lafourche, St. Martin, St. Mary, or Terrebonne Applicants must be at least a high school senior to be considered for a scholarship. Scholarship awards will be presented to recipient(s) in the form of a certificate and/or check redeemable jointly to the recipient(s) and the financial office of the chosen school/college in the State of Louisiana. Any incomplete applications are automatically disqualified for consideration. Any questions regarding eligibility, applications, or requirements should be addressed to Southeastern Louisiana Home Builders Association Staff or Chair of the Committee. Scholarships will be awarded based on the following: Scholastic Aptitude Minimum requirement 2.50 GPA on a Standard grading scale Official copy of transcripts must support GPA ACT scores will also be considered Official copy of ACT scores for first time applicants must be provided Major-Applicants must be pursuing a degree in Building Related Industry Curriculum.

5 Essay- An essay, between words, of applicant s college expectations, their career goals, and the reason(s) or need of our scholarship is required. Applicants should address their major in the essay. Reference Letters- a minimum of two (2) original copies of your reference letters are required for all applicants. All letters should be from persons outside the family (no family members) At least one letter should be from the applicant s school counselor, faculty member or principal. All letters should include the person s address and telephone number.
