1 Stat A summary of EOC, PSAT, ACT, SAT.TSI.&AP EOC: End-Of-Course Exam EOC consists of five (5) exams: English 1 (9th grade) Algebra 1 (9th grade) Biology (9th grade) English 2 (10th grade) * US History (11th grade) : These online exams are required for graduating from a Texas public high school Students will have multiple opportunities to complete this requirement throughout high school.

2 PSAT/NMSQT The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT ) is the proven first step to college and career opportunity. By measuring reading, mathematics, and writing skills, the PSAT/NMSQT provides students with valuable college readiness feedback and tools to help them reach their college goals. > Students are tested in the 10th and 11th grade school years. i PSAT/NMSQT will be administered on Wednesday October 15, 2014 on campus. 3 ACT/SAT : These exams are known as College Entrance Exams. Each university has their own admission score required for entrance into their Institution. Students and parents are advised to research what those scores are early on. We begin registering students the Spring semester of their Junior Year (11th). Fee waivers are available for those that are on free and reduced lunch. ACT: Exam includes: Reading, English, Math & Science with the Optional Plus Writing. ; Fee waiver covers all registration fees including the Plus Writing portion Price: ACT No Writing: $38.00 ACT Plus Writing: $54.50

TSI: Texas Success Initiative This is the NEW College Placement Exam (replaces Accuplacer, THEA, & Compass) : This exam determines: o If a high school student is able to take college level courses while still in high school (dual enrollment) Whether or not an entering college freshman will need remedial courses in English or Math. Students can be exempt from the TSI exam if they meet college readiness standards set forth by the State of Texas on EOC, PSAT, ACT, or SAT.

7 AP: Advanced Placement i AP exams are standardized tests designed to measure mastery of content and skills of an AP course. : In addition, a successful score of a 3, 4, or 5 could even earn the student credit and advanced placement in college. These exams are administered the first two (2) weeks in May. Students can challenge any exam on the AP list even without the course. AP: Registration Information. Registration occurs online through the BETA High School website. Fees: Free and reduced lunch: $30.00/Exam Full price lunch: $91.00/Exam i May be paid in installments; however, a service fee will be charged each time you make a payment with your Debit or Credit Card.
