4 Global Work Integrated Learning through mobility Broad scope for students within the government s scholarship and mobility programs: Study, internships, practicum placements, volunteering Practical experiences the lead to a greater understand of the global environment.

5 The New Colombo Plan is a signature initiative of the Australian Government which aims to lift knowledge of the Indo-Pacific in Australia by supporting Australian undergraduates to study and undertake internships in the region.

6 Key features Australian Government foreign policy initiative Supports Australian undergraduates to study and undertake work experience across 40 locations in the Indo-Pacific through: a prestigious scholarships program a flexible mobility program a focus on supporting internships and mentorships

7 Scholarship program Prestigious scholarship program for semester-based study and internships or mentorships Open to Australian undergraduates aged Between 120 and 150 scholarships expected to be awarded in 2018 Scholars expected to be announced in late November

8 Mobility Program Supports semester-based or short-term study, internships, mentorships, practicums & research Open to Australian undergraduates aged 18-28, with capacity to include some students over 28 Around $36 million in mobility grants are expected to be awarded in 2018 Applications for 2018 are now open

13 Learning in workplaces Endeavour internships Of 155 Australian recipients eligible to undertake an internship (as part of their Endeavour program) 86 chose to utilise this option during the period. The most popular destinations were Asian countries. Public health, political science, and international law were the most common themes of field of study.

19 Funding is provided to Australian tertiary institutions through a competitive funding round. Mobility projects may include study, practicums, clinical placements, internships and volunteer projects.
