Work Program 2014 Objectives To tackle cross-border threats to the integrity of sport, such as doping, match fixing and violence, as well as all kinds of intolerance and discrimination; To promote and support good governance in sport and dual careers of athletes; To promote voluntary activities in sport, together with social inclusion, equal opportunities and awareness of the importance of health-enhancing physical activity through increased participation in, and equal access to, sport for all.

8 5. Work Program 2014 Activities Support for collaborative partnerships; Support for not-for-profit European sport events, involving several programme countries; Support for strengthening the evidence base for policy making; Dialogue with relevant European stakeholders.

9 5. Work Program 2014 Priorities 1. Combatting doping at grassroots level, notably in recreational environments such as amateur sport and fitness; 2. Supporting prevention and awareness-raising among stakeholders involved in the fight against match-fixing; 3. Promoting volunteer activities in sport and supporting innovative approaches to contain violence and tackle racism, discrimination and intolerance in sport; 4. Supporting the implementation of EU principles on good governance in sport;

10 5. Work Program 2014 Priorities 5. Supporting the implementation of the EU guidelines on Deual Careers of Athletes; 6. Supporting the implementation, in the field of sport, of EU strategies in the areas of social inclusion and equal opportunities, notably the EU Gender Equality Strategy and EU Disability Strategy; 7. Supporting the implementation of the EU Physical Activity Guidelines to encourage participation in sport and physical activity.

HEPA (Health Enhancing Physical Activity) EU actions at the policy level - First ever recommendation in the area of sport; - Underlining the problem of the lack of physical activity in different environments (e.g. school, work); - Pointing out the benefits of physical activity (e.g. lowered risk for certain disease); - Emphasizing public authorities' insufficient actions; - Establishing light monitoring system and defining indicators based on EU PA Guidelines (2008).

HEPA (Health Enhancing Physical Activity) EU financial support PREPARATORY ACTIONS : Promoting health and physical activity 9 projects (around 2 ml euro) 2012: - Promotion of physical activity supporting active ageing 4 projects (around 0,5 ml euro) - Awareness-raising about effective ways of promoting sport at municipal level - 5 projects (around 0,9 ml euro)

HEPA (Health Enhancing Physical Activity) EU financial support ERASMUS PRIORITY: promote voluntary activities in sport, together with social inclusion, equal opportunities and awareness of the importance of health-enhancing physical activity, through increased participation in, and equal access to sport for all 2014 Call: 16 projects supported.

Good Governance Projects / Preparatory Actions - A key activity under Erasmus+ - A number of GG projects financed in 2011 EU Expert Group : 3 priorities - Award procedure for major sports events - Protection of minors in sport - Gender equality and follow-up of recommendations on the principles of GG ( XG) Challenges: Implement / Monitor Dialogue / other EU Forum, for example

22 9. European Week of When? 7-13 September (flexibility) Where? Brussels and Member States Focus Days: Education, Workplace, Outdoor, Clubs & Fitness Ambassadors: high visibility (Clarence Seedorf, Steven Gerrard, Danka Bartekova and Marie Bochet)

23 10. European Week of Communication campaign launch: 2 nd June with NCBs and Partners, at Berlaymont. Visual identity, website. Events & Activities: Opening: 7 th Sept.; Flagship event: 9 Sept, The Square, focus on "Role of in promoting tolerance & open societies in Europe", conference, workshops, exhibition. Partners: 14 signed at the European Forum in December 2014, 11 more on June 2 nd. NCBs
