1 DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE Undergraduate Scholarships & Awards Thanks to the generosity of alumni and friends, the Department of Computer Science offers scholarships to undergraduate students each year. Rising junior and senior students are invited to submit an application before March 23 during the prior academic year. The scholarship committee will notify applicants of their decision before May 1. Students must be enrolled in the fall semester of the following academic year to be eligible. For example, if a student applies in the Winter 2018 semester, he or she must be a junior or senior enrolled in Fall The Office of Financial Aid will deposit funds into the students accounts at the beginning of the fall semester. The amount of each award will be determined by the scholarship committee. Students may submit one application to be considered for any or all of these awards Stephen P. Hepler Academic Award In recognition of exceptional scholarship, such as books and travel to conferences Herbert N. Weingarten Endowed Scholarship ($2000) Member of Wayne State University s student chapters Association for Computing Machinery- Women (ACM-W) or Society of Women Engineers (SWE) U.S. Citizen Financial need is not required (continued on next page)

Stieber Endowed Scholarship ($1000) U.S. Citizen Financial need is not required Department of Computer Science Scholarship ($500) The Department may award additional scholarships to student applicants. The number and amount of the awards varies from year to year. Preference given to students with demonstrated financial need FAFSA form must be submitted to Office of Financial Aid GM Computer Science Scholarship ($500). HOW TO APPLY: Students may apply directly by filling out the Undergraduate Scholarship Application. Questions about the application process may be directed to a Department of Computer Science academic advisor.
