1 Beth Walters Memorial Scholarship Scholarship Number: 288 Amount of Each Scholarship: $300 Number of Scholarships to be Awarded: One This Scholarship is in memory of a loving, hilarious and compassionate woman who touched the lives of many through her compassion in her work and in her personal life. Beth was a caregiver, and always was helping those in need. From her job as a nurse to being a loving mother for her family, she was in many ways the definition of compassion to her friends, family and coworkers. Applicants must be planning a career in the Healthcare Field. Scholarship may be used at any accredited four year or technical college. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.5 or better. Member of this year s Mosinee High School graduating class. Please apply using the general application checking this scholarship under general scholarships, and return it to Student Services by the due date AND Write and essay answering the question: What does Compassion mean to you? Recipient will be selected by the donor Scholarship monies will be awarded at the Senior Recognition Night in the form of a check made out to the recipient and the post secondary school they will be attending.
2 American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship Scholarship Number: 102 Purpose of scholarship: This scholarship is part of our rehabilitation program to aid an ex-service man's or woman's child in furthering his or her education in the field of his/her choice. Contributor: American Legion Auxiliary Amount of Each Scholarship: $100 Number of Scholarships to be Awarded: One Applicant should be a son or daughter whose father, mother or grandparent was or is a member of the Armed Forces and is in need of financial assistance. Applicant must show date of honorable discharge. Scholarship may be used at any accredited school. Applicant must be able to meet the standard college requirements. Rank preferably in the upper half of the class. Carried the recommended pre-school program of the vocation they have chosen. Be thrifty, ambitious and most desirous of a college education. Check this scholarship under Community Scholarships on the General Scholarship Application form, Applicant must complete a financial need statement. Please note the following on a separate sheet of paper. o Do you have a father, mother or grandparent was or is a member of the Armed Forces? o If yes, give name, branch of Military and discharge date: Applications must be returned to the Student Services office by the due date. Selection of the recipient will be made by the MHS Scholarship Committee. 3 Ann Truax Dehlinger Scholarship Scholarship Number: 205 Purpose of Scholarship: This scholarship recognizes a graduating high school senior intending to pursue a career devoted to serving others with care, dignity and honesty. Representative professions would be found in the restaurant/hospitality industry, healthcare and teaching. Contributor: Children of Ann Truax Dehlinger, a 1937 graduate of Mosinee High School Amount of Each Scholarship: $500 (paid out second semester) Number of Scholarships to be Awarded: One Applicants must be intending to enroll in an accredited college, university or technical school program leading to a profession devoted to service of others. Applicants should have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. Applicants should have demonstrated personal integrity and self sacrifice through service to the community, school and religious affiliation. Financial need will be taken into account in considering recipient. Applicants are to complete a General Scholarship Application, checking this scholarship under Community Scholarships and a Financial Need form and return it to the Student Services office by the due date. Recipients will be selected by the MHS Scholarship Committee. Ann Truax Dehlinger family designate will be informed of selection and may chose to serve as presenter at the Senior Recognition Night. Scholarship will be awarded in certificate only at the Senior Recognition Night. Scholarship funds will be distributed, in the form of a check, made out to the recipient and the school they will be attending following completion of first semester post high school study and documentation of continued enrollment the succeeding semester. The required documentation should be forwarded to Mosinee High School, Attention: Student Services Secretary, 1000 High Street, Mosinee WI Be sure to include grade card from first semester, registration of classes for second semester and your current address before February 1st.
4 Charles Tabaka Memorial Foundation Scholarship Scholarship Number: 243 Contributors: Friends and Family of Charles Tabaka Amount of Each Scholarship: $500 Scholarships to be Awarded: One Must complete the application procedure. Scholarship may be used at any accredited technical or four year college. Applicants must complete General Scholarship Application, checking this scholarship under General Scholarships, and complete 2 essays and return them to the Student Services office by the due date. For the essays visit o Click on the photo of Chuck Tabaka and read his In Loving Memory of page. o Write a minimum 200 word reflection about his story. Some ideas to reflect on include, but are not limited to, What should his friends have done? How do you think his friends felt knowing they could have helped?, What would you have done?, and How do you think his family felt? o Choose one other photo and read the In Loving Memory of page. Please indicate the name you chose. Write another minimum 200 word reflection about his/her story. Use the questions above as possible ideas for reflection. Selection of the recipient will be made by the Donor. Scholarship will be awarded in certificate only at the Senior Recognition Night. Donor is responsible for payment and will mail out the check approximately 2 weeks after Senior Recognition night.

Applicants should have qualities in the following: Character, leadership, service to school and community and scholarship. Students will be judged on financial need. Each applicant will be required to fill out a General Scholarship Application, checking this scholarship under Community Scholarships, and a Financial Need form and return it to the Student Services office by the due date. Selection of the recipient will be made by the MHS Scholarship Committee. Scholarship monies will be awarded at the Senior Recognition Night in the form of a check made out to the recipient and the post secondary school they

Acceptance at a four-year college or a technical/vocational school. Applicants should have outstanding qualities in the following: Character, leadership, service to school and community and scholarship. Students will be judged on financial need. Each applicant will be required to fill out a General Scholarship Application, checking this scholarship under Community Scholarships, and a Financial Need form and return it to the Student Services office by the due date. Selection of the recipient will be made by the MHS Scholarship Committee. Scholarship will be awarded in certificate only at the Senior Recognition Night. 7 Dan Hoffman Memorial Scholarship Scholarship Number: 192 Contributor: Patricia Hoffman Amount of Scholarship: $200 Scholarships to be Awarded: One Applicant must have successfully completed Study Skills. Scholarship may be used at any accredited post secondary college or university. Applicant may be an alumnus of Mosinee High School or a member of this year s graduating class. Each applicant will be required to fill out a General Scholarship Application, checking this scholarship under Community Scholarships and return it to the Student Services office by the due date. The transition teacher will be contacted to see if there are any Special Education students that have been accepted at a college or university. Selection of the recipient will be made by the MHS Scholarship Committee Scholarship monies will be awarded at the Senior Recognition Night in the form of a check made out to the recipient and the post secondary school they Unused Scholarships: If recipient does not attend school, money will go unused and be returned to the endowment. If a scholarship goes unused in any given year, it will lapse for that year.
8 Scholarship Number: 272 David Whitmore Memorial Scholarship Amount of Each Scholarship: $ Scholarships to be Awarded: Two (one for each specified field) Applicant should have a GPA of 3.0 or better; Applicant must have been accepted at an accredited college or post high school institution and will be a full-time student in the fall after graduation. Financial need will NOT be a determining factor. Applicant must be a member of this year s Mosinee graduating class. Scholarship Number One: Applicant must plan on majoring in the field of Music or Theater Arts Performance or plan on becoming a music teacher. Scholarship Number Two: Applicant must plan on majoring in the field of Computer Technology. Applicants must complete the General Application form and return it to the Student Services office by the due date. o When applying for the Music or Theater Arts Performance Scholarship, please check that scholarship under Community Scholarships. o When applying for the Computer Technology Scholarship, please check that scholarship under Conservation, Agriculture, and Technology. Selection will be made by the Mosinee High School Scholarship Committee. 9 DeBroux Family Scholarship Scholarship Number: 258 Amount of Each Scholarship: $300 Number of Scholarships to be Awarded: One Applicants must be planning on pursing a career that involves working with the cognitively or physically disabled in some way. Applicants should have a GPA of 3.25 or better. Scholarship may be used at any accredited technical or four year college. Applicants should have outstanding qualities in the following: Character, leadership, service to school and community and scholarship. Applicants will not be judged on financial need. Each applicant will be required to fill out a General Scholarship Application, checking this scholarship under Community Scholarships, and return it to the Student Services office by the due date. Selection of the recipient will be made by the MHS Scholarship Committee. Scholarship will be awarded in the form of a check made out to the recipient and the post secondary school they Unused Scholarship: If the scholarship goes unused in any given year, the money will be returned to the donor.
10 Dentistry Scholarship given by Dr. Dennis Fehrman and Dr. James Michna Scholarship Number: 223 Contributors: Dr. James Michna Dr. Dennis Fehrman Amount of Each Scholarship: $200 Scholarships to be Awarded: One Applicant must plan to major in the field of Dentistry. If no dentistry applicants a career in the health field will be considered. Applicant must have a GPA of 3.0 or better. Scholarship may be used at any accredited four year college. Financial need will not be a determining factor. Applicant must fill out a General Scholarship Application, checking this scholarship under Health Scholarships, and return it to the Student Services office by the due date. Scholarship will be chosen by the MHS Health Scholarship committee. Scholarship will be given to recipient at the Senior Recognition Night in the form of a check made out to the Recipient AND the University/College they Unused Scholarship: If recipient does not attend school money will be given to the alternate.
11 Dominic J. Schipferling Memorial Scholarship Scholarship Number: 239 Contributors: The Schipferling Family Amount of Each Scholarship: $1,000 Scholarships to be Awarded: One Applicant should have a GPA of 3.0 or better. Scholarship may be used at any accredited technical or four year college. Applicants should have qualities similar to the ones described below. Dominic Schipferling was a 1999 MHS graduate. He was a beneficiary of this wonderful scholarship program, which helped him obtain his degree from UW-Milwaukee. Dominic left us due to an automobile accident in the summer of After Dominic s death, we were deeply touched by the number of Dominic s teachers who came to pay their respects and the kind words they said. I was approached by Dominic s kindergarten teacher, whom I didn t recognize. She just wanted me to know that she remembered Dominic after all those years. She told me that he was just one of those kids you never forget. Dominic s teachers all seemed to echo the same sentiment Dominic was the one student who kept the class fired up and motivated. As one teacher stated, I could always count on Dominic to breathe some life into my class. He accomplished this with his passion for life and his wonderful sense of humor. With that in mind, this scholarship will go to the student who breathed life into his classes. Applicant must complete a General Scholarship Application, checking this scholarship under General Scholarships, and return it to the Student Services office by the due date. In addition to completing the General Scholarship Application, applicants MUST provide in written form, one detailed, specific example that shows how your passion of life and sense of humor were used to breathe life into your classes. To validate this example, please have your teacher sign your statement. Applications WILL NOT be considered without this example! MAKE US SMILE. MAKE US CHUCKLE. 12 Don Dupey Memorial Snowmobile Scholarship Scholarship Number: 245 Amount of Each Scholarship: $500 Number of Scholarships to be Awarded: One Applicant or family member must be a current member of a snowmobile club. Scholarship may be used at any accredited school technical or four year college. Applicant must have outstanding qualities in the following: character, leadership, service to school and community. Financial need will not be a determining factor. Applicants are to complete a General Scholarship Application, checking this scholarship under Community Scholarships. Attach a copy of your current snowmobile club registration card. Return application and copy of card to the Student Services office by the due date. Selection of the recipient and alternate will be made by the Mosinee High School Screening Committee. Scholarship monies will be awarded at the Senior Recognition Night in the form of a check made out to the recipient and the post secondary school they Unused Scholarship: If no applications are received for this scholarship, funds will be held over for next year.

Thom Rogers Memorial Graphic Arts Scholarship Scholarship Number: 224 Contributors: Rogers Family Amount of Each Scholarship: $350 Scholarships to be Awarded: One Applicant must plan to major in the field of Graphics. Applicant must have a 2.5 GPA or better. Scholarship may be used at any accredited technical or four year college. Financial need will not be a determining factor. Applicant must complete a General Scholarship Application, checking this scholarship under General Scholarships, and return it to the Student Services office by the due date. Selection of the recipient will be made by the Donor. Scholarship will be given to recipient at the Senior Recognition Night in the form of a check made out to the Recipient and the University/College they Unused Scholarship: If no applications are received for this scholarship, funds will be held over for next year.

Applicant should have outstanding qualities in the following: character, leadership, service to school and community and scholarship Financial need will not be a determining factor. Applicant must complete a General Scholarship Application, checking this scholarship under General Scholarship and return it to Student Services office by the due date. Selection of the recipient will be made by the Donor. Scholarship will be given to recipient at the Senior Recognition Night in the form of a check made out to the Recipient and the University/College they Unused Scholarship: If no applications are received for this scholarship, funds will be held over for next year.
15 Scholarship Number: 252 Edwin Olson FFA Leadership Scholarship Purpose: The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize the leadership potential of an FFA member planning to attend an accredited technical or four-year college. Contributors: Marie Olson and William and Deborah Boehm Amount of Each Scholarship: $1,000 ($500 per year) Number of Scholarships to be Awarded: One Applicant must have been a member of the Mosinee High School FFA Chapter for at least two years and held at least one elected office in the chapter. Applicant must have been a member and demonstrated leadership in, at least one other school, church or community organization. Preference will be give to a qualifying student planning to attend UW River Falls. Applicant must have a 2.75 GPA or better. Financial need will not be a determining factor. Applicant must fill out a General Scholarship Application, checking this scholarship under Conservation, Agriculture, and Technology Scholarships, and return it to Student Services office by the due date. Selection of the recipient and an alternate will be made by the MHS Scholarship Committee and include the Agriculture teacher/ffa Advisor. Scholarship monies will be awarded at the Senior Recognition Night in the form of a check made out to the recipient and the post secondary school they Second year eligibility Proof of the following is required: o Proof of registration - Proof can include a copy of the student's schedule or a copy of their bill. Both of these items must have the student's name, the name of the college and total semester credits on them. o GPA of 2.75 or better o Active participation in at least one campus professional and/or leadership development organization. o Second year payment of $500 will be sent to the student, made out to the recipient and the post secondary school they It will be the RECIPIENT'S RESPONSIBILITY to present the Mosinee High School secretary with proof that they are registered by AUGUST 31st of the second year of school Unused Scholarship: If the recipient does not attend an accredited technical or four-year college following graduation from Mosinee High School, the money will be given to the alternate. If no qualified applicants apply for the scholarship, funds will be held over for the following year.

Scholarship may be used at any accredited technical or four year college. Applicant should have outstanding qualities in character, leadership, service to school and community. Financial need will not be a factor. Applicant must complete a General Scholarship Application, checking this scholarship under General Scholarships, and return it to the Student Services office by the due date. Selection of the recipient will be made by the Local Scholarship Committee Scholarship will be given to recipient at the Senior Recognition Night in the form of a check made out to the Recipient AND the University/College they Unused Scholarship: If recipient does not attend school, money will be given to the alternate. If no recipients receive this scholarship, funds will be returned to the donor.
17 Erwin Kernin Memorial Scholarship Scholarship Number: 250 Contributor: Mosinee Alumni, Erwin Kernin, Class of 1946 willed a portion of his estate to the Mosinee School District to use for scholarships. Amount of Each Scholarship: 2 - $2,000 four year college, 1 - $1,500 technical college Scholarships to be Awarded: 3 Applicant s attending a four year college must have a 3.6 cumulative GPA or better. Applicant s attending a technical school must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA or better. Applicant must have a strong commitment to school and community. The applicant must complete a General Scholarship Application, checking this scholarship under General Scholarships, Applicant must also include a 300 word essay stating their service to school and/or community involvement. All applicants will be interviewed by the Principal, Superintendent, Board President or designee, faculty member, community representative, Senior Counselor and the Student Services Secretary.
