2 What is student exchange programme? Study in a PolyU partner university in Europe, USA, or Asia Pacific Only pay tuition fee to PolyU Credits earned through the exchange would be transferred back to PolyU and counted as PolyU credits

5 CMAO exchange Institutional CMAO (China & Taiwan) Exchange to reputed universities in China and Taiwan, such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, Tongji University, National Taiwan University, National Cheng Kung University etc.

7 Pay attention Not all CMAO s partner universities offer fashion / textile related courses Do more research! Check the courses of the host universities Otherwise, you cannot earn enough credits after exchange and may delay your graduation

8 Tips Business students: flexible, can select business related courses (not necessary fashion business courses) Technology students: must select fashion/ textile technology courses Design/ IA/ Knitwear students: must select the courses related to your major

9 IAO Summer Exchange Exchange to PolyU s partner universities during summer term (sem 3, 2017/18) Transfer one elective subject (3 credits) Application : refer to PolyU s IAO s website Always check your PolyU s to check for latest information

12 Last chance: sem 1, 2018/19 (year 4) Application : sem 2, 2017/18 (around Jan Feb 2018) Selection criteria: Good academic standing GPA 3.0 or above Well written study plan and financial plan Active participation in extra-curricular activities (e.g. Buddy Programme); and Interview performance (language proficiency, communication skill, attitude, overall assessment).

13 Tips Carefully study your study pattern. Plan in advance!! Plan ahead your subject enrollment, especially service learning subject, CAR subjects, elective subjects. You can only transfer ITC credits after completing the exchange programme You can transfer up to 15 ITC credits upon completing the exchange programme

14 Important Remarks Seek FYP supervisor approval in week 5-6, sem 2, 2017/18 Start you final year project in sem 2, 2017/18 and keep good progress in sem 3, 2017/18 (Finish chapters 1 & 2) Submit FYP supervisor endorsement form by end of July 2018 Always keep your supervisor updated about your recent FYP progress during your exchange period No further extension on your FYP submission due date

15 Scholarship & Allowances Sponsorship of up to HK$19,000 from PolyU Students can also apply for the hardship and top-up fund from the International Affairs Office (IAO) if there is financial need Vincent V.C. Woo Exchange Scholarship: 2 students x HK$58,000 each Vincent and Lily Woo Exchange Scholarship: HK$10,000~HK$30,000 each x 3~4 students Crystal Group Overseas Exchange Scholarship: Maximum 5 students X HK$40,000 each. Fang Brothers Knitting Ltd Exchange Scholarship: HK$10,000~HK$30,000 each x 6~10 students. Fung Scholarship: 1 student, about HK$10,000~HK$40,000 each Cheng Yik Hung Overseas Exchange Scholarship: 3 students X USD 5000 each Kayser and Eleanor Sung Memorial Fund Student Exchange Scholarship: HK$ 30,000 X 1 student ITC student exchange scholarship: HK$10,000~ HK$30,000 each x 5-8 students
