1 Fall 2017 Scholarships for New Entering Students ACG has a long tradition of providing scholarships (full or partial tuition reduction) to students who distinguish themselves ally and/or face financial need, help of donors who believe in the transformative value of good education. Need-Based Scholarships Name of Scholarship 1 MICHAEL ANAGNOS SCHOOLS This endowment scholarship was established in 1987 by the of the Michael Anagnos Schools to provide educational opportunities for an incoming student from Epirus. s Meet all requirements for admission to the College and be a degree-seeking student Have completed his/her secondary education at a Greek Lyceum with a high school grade of 17 and above ; preference will be given to students who have graduated from a lyceum in the designated area(s) Be a native of Epirus Achieve a Cumulative Index (CI) of 2.7 or better by the end of the second semester of study. This CI must be maintained while receiving the scholarship. 2 MICHAEL ANAGNOS SCHOOLS EPIRUS This endowment scholarship was established in 1987 by the of the Michael Anagnos Schools to provide educational opportunities for an incoming student from Epirus. s Meet all requirements for admission to the College and be a degree-seeking student Have completed his/her secondary education at a Greek Lyceum with a high school grade of 17 and above ; preference will be given to students who have graduated from a lyceum in the designated area(s) Be a native of Epirus Plan to start a career in Epirus upon completion of the degree Achieve a Cumulative Index (CI) of 2.7 or better, by the end of the second semester of study. This CI must be maintained while receiving the schola ship. Note: The scholarship will be awarded either in Fall Semester 2017 or Spring Semester 2018, depending on the graduation timeframe of the current recipient.

2 3 CONSTANTINOS AND ANNETA ARVANITIS This endowed scholarship was established in 2010 through the generosity of Mrs. Ioanna Arvanitis in memory of her parents, Constantinos and Anneta Arvanitis. It is intended to provide financial assistance to two undergraduate students of Deree who have family origins in Aighialeia or Kalavryta. s Have completed his/her secondary education at a Greek Lyceum with a high school grade of 15 and above ; preference will be given to students who have graduated from a lyceum in the designated area(s) Have family origins in the regions of Aighialeia or Kalavryta and/or have graduated from a high school in Aighialeia or Kalavryta. In the event that no such students are identified, ACG will consider students with family origins from other areas of Greece who meet the qualifications. Maintain a minimum CI of 2.5 after completion of 32 undergraduate credits and 3.0 after completion of 64 undergraduate credits. 4 MICHAEL N. BAPIS These scholarships were endowed in 1997 by Nick and George M. Bapis in memory of their father, Michael N. Bapis, who believed strongly in the importance of education. Michael N. Bapis was born in the village of Aghios Vassilios in the prefecture of Arcadia, Greece. The scholarships are meant to assist entering Greek students who needs financial assistance to complete their college education and whose parents reside in the area of the honoree s birthplace. Have parents who reside in Aghios Vassilios of the prefecture of Arcadia, or in Vlahiotis, Skala, or Gythio in the prefecture of Laconia or, if not, applicants from the Laconia prefecture will be considered (proof of parent s residence is required). If there are no such candidates, Deree prospective students from any area of Greece may be considered ; preference will be given to students who have graduated from a lyceum in the designated area(s) 5 JOY G. KOROLOGOS MEMORIAL These scholarships were established in 1997 by Tom C. Korologos, Chairman Emeritus of of The American College of Greece, and his children, in loving memory of Joy G. Korologos, a member and secretary of the Board, who gave generously of her time, energy and resources for the advancement of this institution. The scholarship is intended to assist young Greek students of limited financial resources whose parents are from the area of the donor s parents birthplace. s Have completed his/her secondary education at a Greek Lyceum in one of the designated areas with a high school grade of 17 and above Have parents who reside in the district of Kynouria in the prefecture of Arcadia, Peloponnese (if there are no candidates from this district, applicants from other districts of Arcadia will be considered). Achieve a Cumulative Index (CI) of 2.7 or better by the end of the second semester of study. This CI must be maintained while receiving

KRENTZMAN This scholarship, established in 1999, is intended for entering students who are ally promising but economically disadvantaged. s Achieve a Cumulative Index (CI) of 2.7 or better by the end of the second semester of study. This CI must be maintained while receiving 7 ROBERT V. LAPENTA This scholarship was endowed in 2001 by Robert V. LaPenta, a former ACG Trustee, to further the College s mission of providing educational opportunities, the American model, to promising students of limited financial resources entering Deree. s Achieve a Cumulative Index (CI) of 2.7 or better by the end of the second semester of study. This CI must be maintained while receiving 8 GEORGE AGOROGIANNIS AND PARASKEVI MENEGATOU PARAFESTAS This endowment scholarship has been established by an anonymous donor who is a former trustee of ACG in honor of George Agrogiannis and Paraskevi Menegatou Parafestas. Be a resident of or have family roots from the island of Kefalonia and/or Larissa. If there are no candidates from these areas, then a student from the greater Ionian Islands and the prefecture of Thessaly will be considered. If there are no such candidates, prospective Deree students from any area of Greece may be considered. ; preference will be given to students who have graduated from a lyceum in the designated area(s) Register for 2 courses (6 credits or more) per semesters. Achieve a Cumulative Index (CI) of 3.0 or better by the end of the first semester of study. This CI must be maintained while receiving

4 9 ELEFTHERIOS AND MARY ROUVELAS The Eleftherios and Mary Rouvelas Endowed Scholarship Fund is the consolidated fund (Sep 2013) of three endowment funds established by Emmanuel L. Rouvelas, a member of of the College, and Marilyn Rouvelas, his wife, an author of books and articles related to Hellenism and Orthodoxy. s ; preference will be given firstly to students who have graduated from a lyceum in Archangellos or Monemvasia in the prefecture of Laconia, then to students from Elika, Demonia, Moali, Monemvasia or Neapoli, and thirdly to students from other towns and villages of Laconia. Achieve a CI of 3.0 or better by the end of the second semester of study. This CI must be maintained while receiving 10 GEORGE AND PARASKEVI TRIANTOGIANNIS This endowment scholarship has been established by Lena G. Triantogianni, a Pierce and Deree alumna and ACG Trustee, in honor of her parents, George and Paraskevi Triantogianni. Preference will be given to Greek/American entering students who are Pierce graduates and to students who have declared their major to be Marketing or Communication Register for at least 2 courses (6 credits or more) per semesters Achieve a CI of 3.5 or better by the end of the first semester of study. This CI must be maintained while receiving 11 MARINOS ZENIOS MEMORIAL This endowment scholarship in memory of Marinos Zenios was established by UBS Warburg (formerly the Dillon Reed Bank), his colleagues, friends and family in Marinos Zenios graduated from Deree with a degree in computer information systems in An excellent student, he did postgraduate studies at Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, and was employed thereafter by the New York branch of Union Bank of Switzerland until his untimely death in Preference will be given to students who have declared Management Information Systems or Information Technology as their major Register for at least 2 courses (6 credits or more) per semesters Achieve a CI of 3.0 or better by the end of the first semester of study. This CI must be maintained while receiving Be in compliance with all College policies including the Student Conduct Code Note: The scholarship will be awarded in case the current recipient fails to abide by the stipulations of the award.

5 Merit-Based Scholarships Name of Scholarship 12 PILLARS These scholarships, established in 2004 to honor the Greek spouses of United States Military Retirees, are offered to Greek students who have demonstrated both excellence and a significant history of volunteerism. The name of the scholarships (PILLARS) is taken from the name of the monument dedicated at ACG by the United States Military Retiree Association, in Greece on July 27th, It is the hope that the recipients of these scholarships will become the pillars of a more civilized world. s Have been a citizen in Greece for at least three s prior to the application Applicants must provide: - an official transcript covering their final three s of high school that shows a cumulative Grade Point Index of 75% or higher for those three s - verifiable documentation describing all volunteer work contributions in social, political, and/or cultural activities outside the school environment Achieve a Cumulative Index (CI) of 2.7 or better by the end of the second semester of study. This CI must be maintained while receiving Merit Scholarships through the Frances Arts Name of Scholarship 13 ART HISTORY excellence. or Interview to be arranged Art History Department For 25% and 50% Scholarships: register for at least 2 courses (6 credits or more) per semesters and achieve a CI of 3.0 or better by the end of the first semester of study, which must be maintained while receiving For 100% Scholarships: be a full-time student (12 credits or more) per semesters and achieve a CI of 3.5 or better by the end of the first semester of study, which must be maintained while receiving 14 CONTEMPORARY DANCE PRACTICE or excellence. Demonstrate advanced dance performance skills; audition: to be arranged Dance Department For 25% and 50% Scholarships: register for at least 2 courses (6 credits or more) per semesters and For 100% Scholarships: be a full-time student (12 credits or more) per semesters and achieve a CI of 3.5 or better by the end of the first semester of study, which must be maintained while receiving

In the next and final stage, these applicants will be interviewed by the respective committee. The screening will be the following criteria: Meeting of all the eligibility requirements for the relevant scholarship(s) Personal statement(s) by the applicant (which is included in the application) High School graduation grade and English language proficiency (for new entering students) Financial need demonstrated by submitting a Need-Based Financial Assistance Grants Application (only for need-based scholarships) Please note All applicants who are applying for Need-Based Scholarships are required to submit a Need-Based Financial Assistance Grants application, in addition to the scholarship application, as financial need is one of the criteria for need-based scholarships Scholarships awarded through the Frances Arts will be reviewed and considered by the School s dean, department heads and faculty The College reserves the right to adjust the criteria for financial assistance found on its website and on scholarship brochures Financial Assistance is given for tuition only and does not include other fees Non-credit courses are not covered by the tuition reduction grant except for courses in the English for Academic Purposes Program (EAPP) Students on probation (CI below 2.00/4.00) are not eligible to receive any kind of financial assistance Certificate-Minor seeking students and Non-Degree students are not eligible to apply for Scholarships FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AND PLANNING OFFICE t: /9 ext. 1304, 1305, 1306, 1327 Fax: financialassistance@acg.edu
