Parker Lamb Awarded Prestigious Engineer-Historian Award ASME's History & Heritage Program has awarded the 2014 Engineer-Historian Award to University of Texas Professor Emeritus J. Parker Lamb for his books on the history of American railroads in Austin, Texas. Lamb was cited specifically for "Perfecting the American Steam Locomotive," and "Evolution of the American Diesel Locomotive," books that the H&H Program says "provide an engineer's analysis of the important steps in the development of American railroad motive power. Pay $.50 and park anywherein the lot. Across from the lot is the new Performing Arts and Humanities building and 3 buildings in a row to the left. The Engineering building is the red brick building in the center. An entrance to the building faces the Performing Arts building.
