IEEE Sensors Early Career GOLD Award Awarded annually to promote, recognize and support contributions from young GOLD members within the fields of interest of the IEEE Sensors Council. The award is a plaque and $2,000 check. Who are eligible? Must be IEEE GOLD member per IEEE GOLD member defini>on at the >me of nomina>on; Must be an IEEE member in good standing.

Min. two and a max. of three lepers of reference The nomination are reviewed by four member award s committee with representatives from industry, academia and GOLD members.

He designed MicroLEAP and SmartCane, a Bluetooth enabled devices that con>nuously tracks cane use. Finland Viikari has authored eight peer reviewed journal papers, one patent, and five patent applications on wireless sensors Visiting Researcher, University of California, San Diego, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering
