1 IMRE In 1999, after many developments, a new international study programme was set up. It was called Master of Business Administration in International Management of Resources and Environment. Everybody knows this now as IMRE. In the first lecture in the Winter Term of 1999, there was one student from China, he arrived on time. Then, nine more students arrived. Year after year, many more students came and more and more countries were represented. IMRE became a brand name for a study programme with global impact and it put Freiberg on the world map
2 Development of IMRE IMRE is a well established Study Programme within the Profile of TU Bergakademie Freiberg as the nationwide leading University for Education and Research on Natural Resources. IMRE students keep coming from all over the world, searching for excellent study conditions which enable them to move on to other places to start up great career opportunities, here and abroad. Since a few years, IMRE also goes German. Many companies in Germany appreciate the qualifications of IMRE students, offering internships and consecutive employment opportunities, often within their globalization strategies. Investing in the education of IMRE students, no matter of their countries of origin, is a very rewarding option. IMRE,international in itself, went global signing agreements with partner universities in Bandung, Indonesia Kumasi, Ghana Bangkok, Thailand Moscow, Russian Federation, currently with partner universities in China, Kenya, Zambia, Chile and the Czech Republic.
