Organize student member talks on optical communications, all-optical signal processing, and optical sensors. 8. Enrolling new members is of vital importance, we hope enroll more members into our chapter and make more people know about SPIE BJTU chapter and our activites. 9. Host a public lab tour for professors and students from other lab or universities. Chapter Finances We received two sources of funding this year. First was $900 from SPIE for the chapter activity grant. This money went toward the costs of flag and official seal of BJTU SPIE Student chapter, a series of seminars of our Chapter, attending international conference, such as APOC 2008, PIERS 2009 and ICOCN 2009 as well as guest lecturers, and our outgoing activities. We also received up to $200 from Institute of Optical Information (IOI), BJTU which fully financed our t-shirts and partially funded chapter autumn outgoing activity. End Balance = $ 300 Reported by: Kuanglu Yu and Yaping Wang. Sep/28/2009 Reviewed by: Zhen Feng and Chao Shang. Sep/30/2009 SPIE BJTU Student Chapter Page 6 of 6
