2 2 The Rotary Foundation (TRF) Mission The Rotary Foundation was established to support Districts and Clubs in efforts to fund humanitarian, cultural and educational programs within our communities and throughout the world. District 5400 is committed to the Foundation and its ideals. District 5400 Rotary Foundation Leadership Team The District Foundation Committee, the Chairs of all TRF Sub-Committees, provides support and oversight for consistency and continuity in District & Club TRF efforts by: Developing an effective yearly District plan of operation Choosing and training TRF committee members for club support efforts Presenting effective yearly Foundation Seminars to support success. Rusty Broughton, PDG District Rotary Foundation Chair Eagle Rock Rotary Club (Chartering) 2265 Teton Plaza Idaho Falls, ID W: H: C: F: Annual Program Fund (APF) The D5400 APF committee will work collectively to meet fund raising goals in support of club and district programs, projects and activities offering humanitarian service, cultural awareness and education opportunities that further peace and understanding in the world and at home by: Helping each Club build a culture that supports the view that fundraising for foundation is a credible and essential function for Rotary success. Supporting Clubs in establishing systems and processes that lead to accurate and effective reporting and follow-up Helping Clubs build awareness leading to Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY) contributing with an average giving of $100 or more per capita, per year. 3 3 Paul Harris Society The Paul Harris Society was established to support those who choose to give $1000 or more to the Annual Fund Program of the Foundation each Rotary year by: Building a successful Paul Harris Society, supporting District members as their giving ability grows. Educating members and supporting Clubs in all Paul Harris Society efforts Jerry Timm, Chair Paul Harris Society Boise Sunrise Club 2807 Crescent Rim Drive Boise, ID H/W: Timm-j@msn.com The Permanent Fund The Rotary Foundation s endowment or Permanent Fund committee enables individuals to make contributions designed to insure consistency over time and to provide help for generations to come by: Helping clubs build awareness, increasing contributions to the Permanent Fund. Working with clubs to build systems and processes that support success. Preparing for and presenting a reception for Major District Donors Richard Fields, PDG and Dick Sagness, PDG Co-Chairs of the Million Dollar Dinner rcf@moffatt.com sagassoc@cableone.net PolioPlus PolioPlus was established by RI to eliminate Polio from the face of the earth The effort has been 99% successful but the last 1% is the most difficult to eradicate. Efforts will continue until 100% success is achieved by: Providing presentations to clubs to educate members and support fund raising. Work with clubs to schedule such events. Encouraging each club to support the Bill Gates Challenge of matching the Gates donations to finish the fight Encouraging involvement in the last remaining National Immunization Days (NID) in countries still plagued with the Polio Virus.

4 4 Gene Hoge, DG, Chair PolioPlus Pocatello Rotary Club 310 Spoon Drive Pocatello, ID H: C: Grants The D5400 Grants committee will work to ensure effective use of allocated District Designated Funds (DDF) for funding local and international service projects. There are two types of grants available to clubs: District Simplified Grants (DSG), available for local club projects, and Matching Grants (MG), for international club work. Working proactively with clubs to ensure opportunities to request and receive funding for local projects with District Simplified Grant (DSG) monies. Developing and communicating a process for club an District grant requests. Ensuring access by every club to Matching Grant (MG) Funds. Ensuring effective and accurate Grant requests, including the final reports Joel D. It is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for young business and professional men and women between the ages of 25 and 40 in the initial years of their professional lives. The Committee strives to ensure program success by: Building program awareness that will lead to 100% clubs involvement with and support of efforts to build exchange teams and utilize their talents and knowledge upon their return Thinking three years in advance about exchange countries, working closely with the DGN and DGE to secure a desired exchange. Providing presentations within clubs and at appropriate training events, keeping clubs informed Providing written and publishable materials to clubs and District leaders for recruiting the best possible GSE Non-Rotarian team members & Rotarian leader. Interviewing and carefully choosing team members and a team leader for the trip. Working with the outbound team as they prepare for the trip

5 5 Kara Yost, Chair Group Study Exchange Pocatello Rotary Club Pocatello, ID H: C: Ambassadorial Scholarship Program Ambassadorial Scholarships are granted by Rotary International to further the ideals of Rotary and increase world understanding and Peace by sending students to study in other countries and build cultural awareness and goodwill. D5400 Committee members achieve program goals by: Working with clubs to ensure an opportunity to nominate a candidate for the best funded scholarship in the world: the Ambassadorial Scholarship. Communicating throughout the District concerning dates of importance and how to apply Choosing the best candidate from within the District John McGuire, Chair Scholarship Committee Boise Rotary Club Boise, ID C: johnjmcg@msn.com Alumni Committee The Alumni Committee works to maintain a lasting relationship between Rotary Districts and Clubs and the alumni of the District s Foundation programs. This ongoing coordination aids in reaching many of the essential goals on both the club level and District level, including membership recruitment, building cultural awareness, and a foundation for a peaceful world. Committee goals are met by: Building awareness to support the utilization of talents and skills within the District 5400 alumni group Supporting efforts to encourage Alumni to join Rotary as members Building a speaker group to provide presentations to clubs concerning Foundation Funded activities.
