1 College of the Arts The scholarships and awards have been established to support and recognize outstanding scholarship and creativity and to assist students majoring in visual arts, music, theater and dance. The online Scholarship Application opens January 4, COTA Dean s Office Frieda Brahinsky and Helen Brahinsky Fromson Memorial Scholarship Established By: This scholarship was established by brothers Robert and David Fromson, and their father Edward, in honor of Edward s wife Freida and her sister Helen through a scholarship for a first generation American or foreign-born American student pursuing a degree in music, musical theatre or dance. Frieda Brahinsky and Helen Brahinsky Fromson emigrated from the Ukraine in 1925 to escape religious persecution and their love of music and dance is commemorated through this scholarship. Open To: This scholarship is open to full-time continuing College of the Arts students majoring in music, musical theatre or dance who are first generation American or foreign-born American students. Criteria: Full-time enrollment at CSUF Good academic standing 3.0 minimum GPA Application Deadline: March 13 Dr. Carol Channing and Mr. Harry Kullijian Arts Scholarship Established By: This endowed scholarship was established by Dr. Carol Channing and Mr. Harry Kullijian to honor the legacy of Dr. Carol Channing s six decades in a performing arts career and to encourage academic excellence in the arts.

Clayes III Performing Arts Scholarship Established By: Scholarship is offered through an estate gift from alumnus and benefactor Joseph A.W. Clayes III. 6 Art historians must submit a one-page abstract of a recent research paper. All applicants must submit a one-page proposal describing how the funds will assist you in your artistic development. Hallberg to recognize demonstrated excellence in visual arts students, and primarily sculpture students, with superior academic achievement, active community service, and commendable personal behavior. Open to: This scholarship is open to incoming and continuing Visual Arts MA and MFA graduate students and undergraduate sculpture students. Criteria: Full-time enrollment Good academic standing 3.0 minimum GPA Application Procedure: Awarded upon admission and enrollment through faculty nomination. Application Deadline: N/A Music Scholarships for entering students are based upon performance at auditions held each year. Decisions are made in consideration of the quality of the student s audition, the donors wishes and the school s needs. Scholarship amounts may range from modest assistance for one year to full-fee awards for four years. In some cases, scholarships awarded for one or two years may be renewed. Students should submit only one scholarship application to the School of Music. They will then be considered for all scholarships for which they may be eligible. Scholarships for continuing students are awarded based upon exceptional musical achievement, academic performance, and service to the School of Music. 8 Criteria: For Incoming or continuing undergraduate student enrolled in a course of study in the School of Music. Students will demonstrate their community and civic involvement in their application and its relationship to their course of study, and future intentions. Open to: This scholarship is open to undergraduate or graduate students who intend to become choral conductors. Tran to provide a scholarship to students demonstrating a pioneering spirit in their fields. Joe and Voiza Arnold Transfer Student Scholarship Established by: This scholarship was established by Dr. Joe and Dr. Voiza Arnold, to acknowledge students who have transferred from a community college. Kennedy-Zeballos Scholarship in Technical Theatre Established by: This scholarship was established by Theatre & Dance Professor Abel Zeballos, to recognize and honor students who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to the Department of Theatre and Dance in the area of design and technical theatre. Open to: This scholarship is open to continuing theatre or dance major students with an emphasis in Design and Technical Theatre. Dr. Leland Bellot is a Professor Emeritus of History at Cal State Fullerton and has been connected to the university for more than 40 years. The scholarship is to support a graduate student in Department of Theatre & Dance, including Musical Theatre. Open to: This scholarship is open to incoming and continuing graduate students.
