Requirements for a major: A total of 63 credits in history of which approximately one half will be related to a field of concentration to be chosen by the student in consultation with a departmental adviser. Courses numbered 12 to 26 are open to freshmen. It is recommended that students planning to major in history take History 12 and one other course during their first year. History 66 is required of all majors. History Courses (new, replacing the 10, 11 world history courses; the equivalent of the 110s later on).
