4 FOUNDATION GRANTS AND PROGRAMS Grants District grants - Small grants administrated by District Global grants - Large Grants administrated by the TRF. 10 GLOBAL GRANTS Carlingford Rotary used a Global Grant of $26K to supply fishing boats in Philippines after Hurricane Haiyan Total project value $56K The Hills Kellyville Rotary used a $40K GG to supply ophthalmology equipment in the Jaffna hospital in Sri Lanka. 135 patients were operated on using the equipment in its first month of operation. Total project value $110K

ROTARY FOUNDATION PEACE FELLOW Our Peace Fellow for 2016-17 is Patricia Garcia OAM, who is currently studying at the Peace Centre at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok for three months.

12 ROTARY FOUNDATION PEACE FELLOW Our Peace Fellow for is Patricia Garcia OAM, who is currently studying at the Peace Centre at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok for three months. The 22 Fellows are hosted by the Rotary Club of Bangkok and other Bangkok clubs. Patricia is a highly respected humanitarian and human rights advocate who has worked in war zones for over 20 years (Afghanistan, Sudan, Burma) and has worked for many global NGOs with managing programs with responsibility for emergency and post conflict recovery

Alison was nominated by the Rotary Club of Northbridge Alison is studying for a Masters in Public Policy, with special focus on education policy. In particular her passion is to improve curricula for the aboriginal community, recognising culture and remoteness as particular challenges

14 ROTARY FOUNDATION GLOBAL GRANT SCHOLARSHIPS Another of our Foundation Global Grant Scholars for is Michaela Dolk who is also studying at Oxford University. Michaela was nominated by the Rotary Club of Mosman. Michaela has a BSc in Environmental Systems, and is studying for a Masters degree in Water Management Policy. Her aim is to contribute to improved hydrology and water management in developing countries.

20 DISTRICT OBJECTIVES - THE ROTARY FOUNDATION Every club and Every Rotarian to support the Foundation even if the personal contribution is modest. The objective is to involve ALL Rotarians in Personal giving, and ALL clubs in some activity, including financial support, with the Foundation. Centurion Towers will continue to be used to encourage personal giving.

21 CLUB PRESIDENT S ROLE - the Rotary Foundation Vigorously support Foundation activities- grants and giving, promoting OUR charity and our prime means of doing good in the world Appoint a Rotary Foundation Chair in your club Ensure you have frequent and effective communication with your Foundation Chair during planning and during the year Support your Foundation Chair in keeping active in promoting grant applications, Club giving and personal giving Be knowledgeable, and don t hesitate to seek help from your District Foundation representative. Ensure your Foundation Rep has a guest speaker slot early in the year to update members on the Foundation
