FOREWORD FROM THE DEAN /!ftn/ p Among the many important events hosted by the Faculty of Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the annual Teachers' and Students' Awards Presentation Ceremony deserves special recognition. This is the one occasion when we come together to thank our dedicated teachers who have not only passed on their knowledge to our students, but have also inspired them. They sacrifice their time to nurture our next generation, placing education as their top priority. In honouring them, we are paying tribute to all of the teachers who have contributed to the success of this Faculty. This joyful event also presents an opportunity to celebrate the academic accomplishments of our bright students. Only the best students are selected to study in the Faculty of Medicine, so if you have joined our ranks it is because you have proven yourself to be the creme de la creme. My heartfelt congratulations also go to your parents, who must be very proud of you. I want to remind you that this is only the beginning.
