They plant seeds and harvest lettuce leaves. The leaves are then taken to a restaurant owned by another Rotarian. From the money that they earn, the students invest in more seeds and equipment. The Rotarians are mentors at the school through training projects for students with autism and intellectual and emotional disabilities. The project began in The students learn crop cultivation, beginning with the fundamentals of growing lettuce indoors and the learn to package and transport crops culminating in selling vegetables to businesses around Andong. The project between the school and the Andong Agriculture Technology Center is supported by a global grant from the Rotary Foundation. The Rotarians funded the construction of the horticultural facilities where the training takes place, financially support the instruction provide by faculty at the school and volunteered as mentors for the students and business consultants and monitors for the project. The aim is to provide students with a foundation to pursue careers in horticulture and gain financial independence. Not only is the program a challenge for the students to learn new things, the grant application process involves learning for the members of the Rotary Club of Andong-Central.
