1 Dorothy Wolf Scholarship The Dorothy Wolf Scholarship is a scholarship opportunity for Stafford County Public Schools. Recipients of this scholarship must be seniors accepted into and planning to attend either The University of Virginia or the University of Mary Washington. This opportunity will be extended to SCPS students annually. The award amount will vary annually; however, the minimum amount that will be awarded to each student is $1,000. Please publicize this scholarship and distribute to students accepted into and planning to attend either The University of Virginia or the University of Mary Washington. Each high school is asked to select the top three applicants representing attendance at each of the two universities. Selection at the school level should be based on the students applications and financial need. Completed applications are due on or before May 17, All submissions should be sent via PDF to dorothywolfscholarship@gmail.com No paper applications will be accepted. A final selection committee at the Central Office will determine the recipients for the scholarships. The recipients will be selected by June 1, Prior recipients are eligible to apply one time, for the immediately following school year only.

Qualification/Eligibility High School Senior who must be accepted into and plan to attend either The University of Virginia or the University of Mary Washington in the fall of II. Required Documentation a. Application- Each candidate must submit a complete application. The completed application must include: Application, Unofficial Transcript, Letter of Acceptance, two Letters of Recommendation, Section II, and an Essay. Application packets should be submitted via ed PDF to dorothywolfscholarship@gmail.com. b. Unofficial Transcript- A copy of applicant s unofficial high school transcript provided by the high school staff. c. College Acceptance Letter A copy of the acceptance letter from The University of Virginia or the University of Mary Washington must be included in the submission of the application. d. Letters of Recommendations Each packet must include two letters of recommendation. One of the letters must be from a faculty member who has taught the student in the classroom. Each letter of recommendation must include the reference s name, address, telephone number, and information regarding how long and in what capacity he or she has known the applicant. e. Financial Document The parent(s) or guardian(s) of the applicant must complete and sign Section II of the Application. f. Essay Each candidate must provide a word essay describing their goals and how the scholarship would help him or her achieve their goals. III.
