Procedures: Submit essay between words, via ESSAY topic-when you look back on your life in 30 years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful? What relationships or accomplishments will be important on this journey? Include your name and the name of your high school. You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible. web Deadline: 10/17/2018 Amount: $4,000 or full tuition Nomination WSU Regents SENIOR planning to attend WSU. You must let your counselor know early that you wish to be considered. This is a nomination scholarship. Use the eligibility calculator on the scholarship website to see if you are eligible. 3.0 minimum GPA, academic achievement, community service and references are required. Each states winner receives a trip to Washington D.C. Procedures: Students record their 3-5 minute essay onto an audio CD or flash drive. The theme this year is: "My Responsibility to America" Judging is based on originality, content and delivery. Minimum 3.0 GPA, demonstrating Academic Achievement, Leadership, Community Activities Procedures: A general scholarship. Apply on-line at Online application required. 150 scholars will be awarded $20,000 scholarships. 3 Deadline: 12/14/2018 Amount: $10,000 - $25,000 AXA Achievement Scholarship - U.S. News & World Report SENIOR, demonstrated ambition and self-drive as evidenced by an outstanding achievement in an activity in school, the community, or the workplace. One senior selected from each state. Must be US citizens or legal residents. Procedures: Comprehensive application. In addition to listing of activities, awards, etc., applicants are asked to describe in detail an outstanding achievement they have accomplished in a nonacademic activity or project. See application for details. For every student who wins a scholarship a $1,000 grant will be awarded to their high school. web Deadline: 12/14/2018 Amount: $2,500 and your school receives a $2,500 grant per winner! AXA Achievement Community Scholarship SENIOR, US citizen or legal resident. The more applicants the more chances of winning! Plan of full time enrollment in a 2 or 4-year college/university in the fall after graduation. Procedures: Must be ambitious and motivated, as evidenced by outstanding achievement in school, community, or work activities, and be recommended by an unrelated adult who can attest to the student's achievement. Applicants will describe an outstanding long-term achievement they have accomplished in a non-academic activity or project. Only 10,000 applications will be accepted. web Deadline: 12/15/2018 Amount: $1,000 Dirk Derrick Car & Truck Accident Injury Scholarship SENIOR: who has had his or her life altered due to an injury from a car or truck accident, be it their injury, that of a loved one, or an influential individual. Procedures: Submit essay- no longer than 5 paragraphs and 600 words- clearly describe your life before and after the accident web Deadline: 12/31/2018 Amount: $8,000 Whatcom County Student Athlete Scholarship-Todd Curran Memorial SENIOR, Academic Achievement (3.0), Community Service, and Sports Activity. Procedures: Application in Career Center. Recommendations, copy of transcript, completed application. One girl and one boy selected from all of Whatcom County. The two scholarships awarded are in the amount of $8,000 ($2,000 per year for four years).

4 Deadline: 1/15/2019 Amount: $100-$25,000 Ayn Rand Institute - Atlas Shrugged SENIOR Specific topic given based on the book Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. See website for details. Procedures: One entry per person, must be submitted on-line. Deadline: 1/25/2019 Amount: $250-$2,500 Firefighter Jason Karwhite Memorial Scholarship SENIOR: This scholarship is for students who are entering the emergency medical field, medical field, fire sciences or fire service. Preference is given to students who are related to a current member in good standing of IAFF (International Association of Fire Fighters) L10 Procedures: 2 letters of recommendation required, short paragraph answers to questions regarding planned career field, career goals, interests out of school, special skills and talents and why you should be selected for this scholarship. Kelly Scholarship SENIOR: Designed to reward students who demonstrate good citizenship while striving to attain their academic goals. Judged on academic merit, extra-curricular achievements-both scholastically and in the community. Applicant must be accepted, or have an application pending, at an accredited institution of higher learning, public or private, including community college. If planning on a 4-yr college must have a composite score or 20 on the ACT or a composite score of 1030 on SAT. Must be a US citizen or have green card. Procedures: This is a general scholarship that can be used at any 2 or 4-yr. College. Application is online or in hardcopy available from the Career Center. Last year over 500 applications were judged and 52 awards were given! web Deadline: 4/25/2019 Amount: $50 to $10,000 Ayn Rand Institute - The Fountainhead Essay Contest JUNIOR & SENIOR, one entry per student, specific essay topics regarding "The Fountainhead" Procedures: Specific Essay topics given.
