11 West Nyack Hamlet Comp Plan Overview West Nyack Design Comments Develop elop a focal point for the hamlet. Put sidewalks on both sides of roads, with connections to outlying areas. Improve intersection at Route 59 ramp & West Nyack Rd. Preserve neighborhood character and foster hamlet pride/cleanliness. Need more trees/open space. Collect fees for open space acquisition. Lighting on too long at West Nyack Park. Open space should be left in it's natural state. Encourage growth of existing or new small businesses. Reduce run-off from impervious surfaces, leave floodplains & wetlands intact.
