1 LOTHIAN NHS BOARD PAPER 12 Edinburgh Community Health Partnership 28 th August 2007 General Manager Sub Groups Update on Remits 1. Purpose 1.1. The purpose of this report is to confirm final details to the sub committee on the existence and remit of a number of sub groups. SUMMARY This paper lists the sub groups that the sub-committee has agreed to establish. It summarises the remits of the sub groups. 2. Recommendations The sub committee is recommended to: 2.1. Note the final details of previously agreed sub groups and their remits Note that all minutes of sub groups are now being submitted to subcommittee meetings. 3. Summary of The Issues 3.1. The CHP discussed a previous paper at its meeting in June 2007 and agreed a number of changes. This paper includes those changes. The full list of subgroups, their remits and membership is set out below Finance and Performance. To monitor the performance of the against the objectives set by the Board and the actions agreed by the sub-committee, paying particular attention to financial performance, risk management, delivery of the quality improvement programme, the performance of services hosted by the CHP and the preparation of business acses for new capital developments. 1

Health Inequalities. Keeping under review the policy and service issues relevant to health inequality, including the socio-economic and community factors relevant to health, the wider social inclusion and regeneration agenda, and the changing profile of the city overall; Assessing the effectiveness of existing programmes and projects contributing to health improvement, and proposing new models of provision; Identifying service priorities, new initiatives, and wider service change designed to contribute to health improvement. Specifically, in 2007/08, the Group will:- Develop a new plan to replace the Joint Health Improvement Plan and incorporate within this a workplan for the Group; Make recommendations for the allocation of the Health Improvement Fund for the next three year cycle; Review existing projects and services and propose a substantive pattern of community health provision in the city; 2

Producing a monthly CHP Report to be distributed simultaneously with The Lothian Report to help better facilitate wider information sharing of CHP specific information and activity to staff and included on all CHP/LHP agenda in the same was as The Lothian Report.
