Since January 1, 2017, NGMC Barrow has added a variety of new equipment throughout the hospital including an ultrasound machine, a nuclear medicine camera, a new 64-slice CT scanner, vital sign monitoring equipment, and two new hyperbaric oxygen treatment chambers in the Wound Care Center. NEARLY $2.5 million spent on new equipment in six months Gainesville emergency physicians now at NGMC Barrow Patients are now treated by the same group of physicians who provide care at NGMC Gainesville and NGMC Braselton s Emergency Departments (ED). Led by NGMC Barrow s new ED Medical Director, Dr. Eric Deal, this standardized care is aimed at improving each patient s overall experience. 04

4 Standarizing care for hospitalized patients If you need to stay in the hospital, your care will be managed by the Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) Inpatient Medicine team. The same group of physicians provide care at the NGMC Gainesville & Braselton hospitals and ensure consistency of care across all NGMC campuses This group provides care for hospitalized patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 8 Nationally recognized cancer services now available closer to home NGMC s Cancer Services are ranked among the top 9 percent in the nation by CareChex, an independent healthcare ratings organization and now access to those services is available right here in Barrow County. 9 what s next? We re listening! Our leaders are listening to community feedback as they plan the next chapter for NGMC Barrow. Through a series of focus groups that have been conducted in the Winder community and polling that will take place, residents of Barrow County will be able to share their hopes and dreams for the future of our hospital. More equipment on the way! Even more equipment purchases are on the horizon for NGMC Barrow! The addition of new technologies will continue the expansion and improvement of services available in Winder.

10 Nursing improvements underway We ve analyzed the need for nursing services specifically at NGMC Barrow, and work is underway to ensure you receive the same high-quality care we provide at every NGMC hospital. 17 Renovation planning in process The changes and improvements implemented at NGMC Barrow since January 1 have been focused on updating technology, expanding services and bringing new physicians to the community. Attention is now turning to planning renovations for the public spaces at the hospital. 18
